Changing a ressie using new on-line service

Okay, I think I know the answer to this but I want to make sure. If I have an existing reservation made at 11 months and want to change it to a different resort at 7 months, if I do this on-line - I have to first pull up the reservation (under My Vacations) and cancel it. I then go to the on-line reservation part and make the new reservation hoping that in the short time between the two steps, the new reservation hasn't disappeared. Is this correct? Sorry if this has been asked/answered before but I didn't see the answer anywhere.

As of right now, yes, that is the only way that you can do it (unless you have enough points to book the new without canceling the old).

I am hoping that at some point, the system will be enhanced that will let you replace reservations at the 7 month mark.

But, the more I think about it, even Disney's website for online booking doesn't allow for modifications or changes so we may always have to call if we don't want to chance the cancel/re-book process.

All these issues about changing at 7 mths or adding days or moving weeks around would surely be resolved by adding the option to modify existing reservations.

I'm crossing my fingers and hope it's soon.
