I know if you cancel within the 30 day period prior to arrival the points going into holding and have to be used before your Use Year.

However, can you change a reservation to a different location within 30 days as long as it does not require fewer points?

For example if you had a studio booked and found out one week prior to arrival that you needed a 2 bedroom can you change without penalty.

Also could you change the reservation from a DVC resort to a nonDVC resort such as the Polynesian after the 30 day period without penalty.

I am not familar with making changes, only the cancellation policy.

Thanks

Yes. Actually, the points would go into holding when you cancelled the first reservation, but would be used immediately for the second (so you are using the points within 60 days of arrival and following the rules for using points in the holding account).

Yes, as long as you are not making the reservation for the Poly in the last 60 days of your use year. During the last 60 days of your use year, you cannot make a reservation for most non-DVC stays that will occur during the last 60 days of your use year.

Best wishes -
