Most of the guidebooks/reviews of seaworld i've read were done before the unfortunate death, i was wondering from those who have been to Seaworld recently what changes if any have been made to the park, paticularly the shows?

The only thing that's changed since the accident is the Shamu show. The show has changed recently, from "Believe" (Old Show) to "One Ocean" (New Show) Infact, One Ocean just made its debut last month. Trainers still interact with and rub, hug, and kiss the whales and the whales still do a variety of unique jumps by themselves. However, the trainers are not swimming with or doing any jumps in the water with the whales during the show as of now. This aspect of the show is still under safety reviews.

One ocean is a much better show with trainers out of the water than Believe was. And that's a reason why the change was made. However, One Ocean was made to be a show that works with both trainers in or out of the water with the whales. So whenever the safety review is complete and Seaworld decides they have taken all the necessary safety precautions, then trainers may return to swimming with the whales.

The "Dine With Shamu" Lunch and dinner experience, where you dine beside Seaworld's Killer whales, has been closed since the accident. However, its on the verge of re opening any day now.

None of the other shows in the park are affected. The dolphin trainers still get in the water with and swim with the dolphins during their show.

It's definitely worth a visit especially with the new Shamu show. I would check it out! Its still worth the day and since the guest experience hasn't changed, i'm sure you'll have a great time!

I was going to reply, but KBF said it better than I could. :) We just got back from a trip last week, and One Ocean was breathtaking. Even without being in the water together, you can tell how much the trainers and whales love each other. It was an amazing show!
