Changes in WDW Watercraft Operations on 7 Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake

We just got back from WL and loved the new boat system. We went back and forth several times over the 5 days to MK and it seemed that they would alternate one large boat (100 person) and one smaller boat (about 40) so the wait never seemed to be more than 5-10min.

Does the Gold launch run on any specific schedule between MK, GF, Poly and MK (e.g., does it leave MK on the hour, leave GF at 20 min after the hour, and leave the Poly 20 minutes to the hour, etc.)... or does it just continue to make loops around Seven Seas Lagoon, following no specific schedule?

How long does it typically take it to make a complete loop from MK, back to MK?

I'll be visiting WDW during the first week in Dec., and would like to use the launch to get between MK and dining reservations at the GF and Poly.
