It seems like I fell into a rut and really wasn't losing much at all so I decided to change up my exercise routine and I have been nicely rewarded. The first week I lost 1.4# and now the second week I have lost another 1.4 for a total of 2.8# in two weeks. The two weeks prior to that I only lost 1# in two weeks, so I am very happy to say that changing your routine just a little bit works! I am down 3.8/5 for the Thanksgiving Challenge and although I won't make my goal for that I will take what I have with a smile on my face. I am now one pound away from that new clippie and at a total loss since beginning this time last year of 53#!

So I guess what I am saying here is don't lose hope when you hit a rough patch, change things up, whether it is your eating or exercise and you should see a breakthrough. Onward and downward we go. (17 pounds until my goal!!!)

That's some great advice there, Tiggerlover!!!!!

I'm so happy that you changed your routine and that you were well rewarded!!! Keep it up!!!! You are getting so close to your goal!!!!!!! I bet that you've lost more than you think, but because you are working out you are not seeing the total loss because you've been growing lots of muscles!!!

I'm so proud of you!!!!!! :) Happy Thanksgiving, pal! :)

Good for you Tiggerlover. I don't exercise at all. I hope that I can find a way to fit something in.

Thanks for posting another inspiration.

Great idea! At the moment, I'm losing but I need to remember this for when things slow down. I'm glad you're doing so well!!

Great advice for us all. I do think that our bodies get used to our routines and we do need to mix it up some. I'm just not very good at doing that. Keep up the great work and congrat's on your weight loss.:D

Wow, Debbi!! That's awesome!! What kinds of changes did you make to your routine? I know that I need to switch things up but don't think simply doing the weights first and then my cardio will make much of a difference. I would love any tips!

Terry, I haven't done weights since the summer, I simply haven't had the time, so I have been sticking to 45-50 minutes of cardio three days a week. Previously I would go on the elliptical for 30 minutes and the rest of the time would be on the treadmill. When I decided to change up I did the elliptical for 30 minutes and then the LifeCycle for the remaining time for about a week and a half to two weeks. Then I changed again and did 45 minutes on the treadmill, walking at an incline (ouch!), then I changed again to 30 min. on the treadmill and the remaining time on the elliptical. It seems that walking at an incline on the treadmill has been very effective. I was reading an article about how our bodies get used to our workout routines so it takes less effort to workout, that is why it is important to switch it up every now and then so your body doesn't get complacent. Good luck, I hope this helps!
