Currently we have a 2BR Lake View booked at BLT in early February. We are taking my parents and little sister down and they are SO EXCITED to stay "next door to the Castle!". I want to upgrade to the MK View, but I don't want to get stuck on a low floor where the view isn't as good.

My question is, can we upgrade our view as we are checking in? And before people jump on me, I am not looking for a FREE upgrade, as I have no problem paying the points, as long as we get a room on a higher floor, probably 8 or above. So, I want to keep my LV room but if they have a MK view available on one of those upper floors, just use the extra points at that point. Is that allowed? Has anyone done this???

Thanks and Happy New Year!!!

Only if there are rooms available in that catagory AND you have enough points available to cover the point difference.

Yes, I knew that, I should have mentioned that we have enough points to cover it if the MK view is available. Thanks!!

It would make more sense to call Member Services yourself before check in, as that is what the resort front desk will have to do themselves. They simply call MS and ask what is available, after checking your account for available points, etc.

I would say it is not likely, but not impossible. The problem will be if there is availability, the request for floor 8 and higher will be only a request, no guarantee. So you may want to stay with what you have since many rooms will already be assigned anyway by the time you arrive for check in.

A word of caution, we had a Guest add the dining plan at check in and they ended up with a new reservation. Our points went into holding and they took other points for the new reservation.

It took us several days to clean up the point mess.

Unless you talk to MS yourself and have access to your account online, I would be very careful when making changes at the Front Desk.
