Chances of linking an SSR one-bedroom and studio to make a 2-bedroom?

Hi, all! Suppose two families are going to WDW together, and one has a one-bedroom reservation at SSR, and the other has a studio reservation. If they ask Disney to link the reservations and provide two rooms that connect and form a two-bedroom, what is the chance that Disney can fulfill their request?

My thought is, SSR is a large resort, and there aren't lots of different rooms types like at AKV, so this should be an easy request for Disney to fulfill.

Has anyone done this? And if you did, did Disney confirm in advance that your rooms would be connecting, or did they just say, "We'll try, but no promises"?

TIA!

IF they are both the same view and same building then it shouldn't be difficult if the requests are done appropriately. What you might consider is changing to 2 BR for the entire time with 2 separate reservations and linking the request to stay in the same villa. You'd have to check in again but likely wouldn't have to move though it couldn't be guaranteed. If you truly want to be together, this is the way I'd do it. And it has the added benefit of being less points or getting a better view if applicable.

The reservations can't be linked since they are for different room sizes, but MS could place a "Travel With" on both reservations. The "Travel With" will alert the room assigner to try and place the rooms as near to each other as possible.

We travel the last week of August every year. We always get a one bedroom and my mother always gets a studio. We ask to be connecting or as close as possible every trip. One year at BLT they were able to give us connecting rooms. The other 6 trips, we were not connecting and we were as far apart as could possibly be. I understand the odds of getting the connecting rooms are slim, but it was amazing how far apart we were on the other trips. None of these were at SSR, though. I hope you have better luck than us.

It'd be cheaper to cancel and rebook as a two bedroom lockoff.
