Chances of Grand Cal Studio at 7 months (June)

I am trying to decide if there is even a chance for us to get a studio at Grand Cal at 7 months for June 2022. We have debated just renting points from a Grand Cal owner or booking on cash which lends me to another question: Is there ever a discount on Disneyland hotels for DVC owners wanting to book cash?

I suppose there is always a chance. I'm looking at the month of June 2022 right now and there are already some nights that are sold out in the studio. You may be too late already to rent points from a VGC owner.

We bought a June UY at VGC with the intention of going in June each year. We usually book the 2nd or 3rd week of June due to school schedules. We always book at 11 months. But, sometimes we end up having to reschedule--so, you just never know. (For 2022, we picked a different week due to a graduation we will be attending. )

You could do a WL at 7 months and keep checking for random dates that might open and have a back up plan if it does not work out.

Studio will be tough. We have gotten spring break at 7 months in a 2BR on several occasions but studios were gone.

We are thinking we may go for a 1bedroom. We have a bit of a points cushion so we can swing it. It will maybe give us a bit more of a chance with more flexibility. We will have to watch/stalk/be flexible and waitlist. Thanks for sharing your input and experience.
