Chances of getting AP/FL Discount in March 09

I will be staying at the Boardwalk Inn from Mar 29-April 5 2009. What are the chances that I will be able to get an AP or FL resident discount, as this is peak season? Thank you.

Personally I think your chances are very good. As an AP holder since 1995, I watch for patterns for discounts to help me choose my vacations for the next year. Since EAster is April 12, the week prior and week after will be blackedout of discounts, so your chances are very good that you'll be able to get some type of discount. This year we saw blackouts for all holiday weekends to include MLK weekend for the first time. (Since that's when we're going in January 09, I just booked my room at rack rate and am not even thinking that a discount will come out--only 1 night before our DVC stay). Unfortunately for you, you did choose one of the highest seasons to visit--PEAK season. Most likely you won't hear anything about discounts for that timeframe until January (my guess). Good luck!

Also check general codes. I was trying to price out a offsite hotel for our first night, it said Disney hotels for $59 (I knew this meant value) they didn't have anything for our first night but I learned the general code is cheaper than what I'm paying under the FL rate. Actually on my second night FL residents are paying rack rate but general code is $15 a night cheaper. After that FL rate is cheaper. So check them all.

Thanks to both of you! We'll be getting a AAA discount, but if a better AP or FL resident discount comes out I'll jump on it!
