Chances of Aulani GV at 7 months for next winter?

I'd think you would be able to do this, but have no first-hand experience at this during the "winter". We've successfully booked an Ocean View Grand Villa three times now at the 7-month window. February 2014, April 2015 and May 2016. Good luck!

Excellent news, thanks. We are hoping to go in January, 2017. Have you requested a specific tower. Have a preference for one over the other?

Wow, OKWLover! I've stayed at Aulani in Ocean View villas 3 times but haven't YET stayed in one of their glorious GV's! I've been in them and they are crazy awesome!

BCV23, your views will be outstanding no matter whether you are in the Waianae or the Ewa tower IMO. The OV GV's have "front and center" ocean views! And in winter you should see some whales too! Yay!!

We've done both towers and gotten the 9th floor on both. Very happy with either but we requested the right tower (closest to the former JW Marriott), who's name I can't recall right now, simply because its closer to the adult pools where we spend most of out time.

Yes, they are "crazy awesome"!. The stretch across the end caps of the two wings and give you a private balcony with 5 sets of sliding glass doors from your unit onto the balcony.

Thanks. I, too, think any GV would be amazing but wondered if the GVs in Ewa might have a slightly clearer view without the Marriott/Four Seasons interfering a bit with the view. What location has been your favorite so far for oceanview?

Thank you very much for both replies. I think I will not make a request but leave it up to the assignors especially as we will have an accessible studio booked as well. Actually have that part in place already. You have given me hope for the GV. If we have no luck, we will be very happy in an oceanview 2BR which is what we've had our other two Aulani stays. Assuming we can get that at 7 months these days!

Bcv23, if you do not happen to get your GV at the 7 month mark, book your 2 bdrm ocean view and immediately get on the W/L for the GV. I've had very good success with W/L over the many years I've been a member. Always worth a shot.

Other than potentially holiday times, Ocean view GVs are usually open at Aulani at 7 months out during the winter months while the standard view GV is usually not. In fact, the only things usually missing nights during that time at 7 months out are the hotel rooms and standard view.
