Chances of a week in Nov 2007?

Hi all. I'm new to the DVC game, and curious about what you all think the chances are of my family being able to find availability for a 2BR for a week next month (November 07). We'd take any resort and any 7-day stretch (i.e. Wed-Tue and Sun-Sat are both fine), but it's gotta be a 2BR and I don't want to switch mid-stay.

I'm planning to rent the points I'd need, but want to see if I'd be able to find anything. If I check villa availability via the general Disney website, will availability be the same as for DVC members?

TIA!

I would think Slim to None really I have been on the wait list for two nights in Nov. to round our my trip and finally dropped one night and have still NOT gotten my other one. That is for SSR in a 2br. Our dates are arrive Nov. 14th for 8 nights but the 8th night is the problem so we have a back up at All Star Sports .....2 rooms. Good Luck but I think it would take a miracle for an entire week at one resort.

Not gonna happen. People have been on the waitlist for months for even here and there ressies. A week without moving would be impossible. The ONLY chance would be if you see someone on the Rent/Trade board that has an already confirmed reservation that they can't use and are letting go. That would be a long shot, but your only possibility.

For your 2nd question, no, if you see it on the general Disney website, it is NOT available through points. Those are rooms that members traded in to make a ressie elsewhere, such as cruise.

Thanks for the quick thoughts.

I'm not sure about the "traded in" thing, but it sounds like you're saying that members would be left waiting (waitlisted) for a unit which shows availability to the general public (for $$)?

Nope, those are no longer available for a points reservation because they have already been used for a points reservation to DCL, DL hotels or some other trade. Now Disney is trying to get cash to pay for the trade that the member made with their points. You can't use points more than once for a single villa.

You could, however, rent that two bedroom directly from Disney and pay cash for it.

Its worth a call. I was talking to ms about my waitlist on Thursday and she said if I wanted a 2 bedroom it would be no problem as they had plenty. Even she was surprised. Give a call tomorrow and see what happens.

I'm waiting on a 1 bedroom. I have a studio booked but we have since changed our minds. The lure of that kitchen and jacuzzi tub was just too much! Heck with conserving points! :lmao:

But if you are not a member, you can't call Member Services. For any reason. You'll need to post on the rent/trade board and have a member check for you.

Nice! Which resort were you booking and which date(s)? (PM me if you want to.)

Thanks. That part I actually did have figured out. :) I may as well go ahead and post the request ASAP.

I misunderstood. I thought they were a member. I kinda skimmed the points part and was thinking they needed to rent some to supplement their existing points. Don't konw how I came to that conclussion. :confused3

My dates are Nov 25-Dec 1. I was looking at SSR, OKW and BWV. MS didn't tell me where the 2 bedrooms were at.
