We just bought at Boardwalk last month and plan on making a reservation for a 1 bedroom standard the week of May 7, 2016 at the 11 month mark. Curious what people think our odds will be for switching to a 1 bedroom at Beach Club at 7 months? Not a huge deal to us but we were drooling over the pool there last time.

Although we are debating how fun the pool will be with a 3.5 year old and 7 month old (though the sand looks really fun for them to play in if nothing else!)

Welcome Home! You will have a better chance trying to get a 1BR than a studio or 2BR at BCV. And in May I would think your chances are very good. I think your children would love the quiet at the BWV pool more than the sand at the BCV as SAB gets really crowded and the Luna pool is often quiet. There is a separate kiddie pool with about six inches of water in it that your 7 month old would love at BWV.

The last few years, we've had no problems switching to BCV in early May for 1 or 2 bedroom, anywhere from 3 to 5 nights.

SAB is very spread out. If your 3yo is adventurous, you'll need someone following. The lazy river was a bit faster flowing than I expected, and my then 4yo got scared. If you can stick around the sand area, that'd make things easier. The 7m old won't be able to do much but sit in the very sandy, shallow area. The sandy area can also get very crowded. There's no height restriction and sometimes older kids run through it.

If pool is important, I'd consider VWL, AKV, VGF, SSR, and BLT. The first 4 have specific kids area with height limits. BLT has a small splash area for your baby and a small water slide for your 3yo. And I believe all of them have zero entry pools.

For May 2013, 2014, and 2015, BCV 1BR's were open at 7 months out for the entire month.

I just got a 1 bdr at BCV in Feb for May 14-19. that is the first weekend of Sar Wars Weekends and the last of Flower & Garden. I had to waitlist had take the chance of a split stay but it came through in 2 weeks

good luck
Judy

The Yacht Club side of the pool will be better for your children than the Beach Club side. The YC side has a kiddie slide and more sandy area for playing, plus a zero entry. The BC side has the deep areas (some areas are 8' deep with a swift current). Plus SAB is spread out, so you'll have to keep an eagle eye on both children.

Boardwalk is really nice for little kids and the std rooms are wonderful point savers. That being said, BCV studios are supposedly difficult to get but you never know! I think BCVs pool may not be ideal for a 3yr old yet (although they will still like it at this age) but definitely in a few years!

You can still play on the "beach" in front of BCV whether you are staying at BWV or not.

Good luck! It would be hard for me to use the extra points above a std view room given then choice ;)

Very high but lower for the holiday weekend.
