:thumbsup2 Disclaimer:This is my first attempt at a trip report. Bear with me. A writer I am not. Things will most likely be out of order at times. I am doing this pretty much all from memory.

With that said here we go.

Cast of Characters:
Daddy(HUGE sports fan, enjoys WDW would rather watch baseball though)
Mommy(Loves everything Disney and brainwashing daughter:) )
Harper (2 years old Loves Disney because that is all mommy tells her about she is also a very smart girl I can say that because I am the mommy, but our family doc did tell us she is ahead of the game)

Disney's Boardwalk Villas

I was so excited for this trip. As usual, I had planned and planned, bought books I didn't need and read the DisBoards constantly. I had DD prepped. She knew all the characters. She knew the music from listening to the Happiest Celebration on Earth CD with me in the car. She knew to tell people that Daddy was a wienie because he wouldn't ride Dumbo.:dumbo: She knew it all. What I wasn't prepared for was DD being a B-Rat for 90% of the trip. Okay...that is maybe exagerating slightly. Probably only 80% of the trip. Ok maybe only 50%. But it seemed like 90%. Most of her B-Rattiness comes from her independence and she seemed to really find that independence while we were on vacation at WDW.:thumbsup2 Great timing DD. Also wasn't prepared for mommy and daddy getting bad colds during the trip and having to pay double for cold medicine at the Boardwalk gift shop. Oh and I wasn't pepared for DD puking on the airplane and the ME bus. Yeah let the fun begin!

Wednesday Feb 28 Leaving for WDW!!
A few days before we left DD started running a fever and a major snow storm was coming to our area so I was a little stressed.:scared1: The fever ended up just going away (no ear infection:thumbsup2 ) and we got out of Iowa just ahead of a major snow storm. My dad took us to the airport and we got on the airplane and took off right on time. We were off. Yeah. I was relaxed and ready for my fresh baked chocolate chip cookie from Midwest Airlines. For some reason DD didn't want to eat hers which was strange. Well I understood why she wasn't eating it when she decided to puke on the airplane. I couldn't think fast enough. I was just catching it in my hand and her blankie. Daddy flagged down the flight attendent and she she got us wet paper towels and Purell wipes. Luckiliy I had packed her pj's in her carry on so she wore a green Tinkerbell pj top with her pink Gap pants the rest of the day. The next flight went fine she watched Elmo on the Ipod and slept. We finally arrived at MCO and she wanted to eat. We found her some fruit in between running all over the airport trying to find the ME desk. They moved it. I didn't read the cover of the ME booklet that said that. Oops.:rolleyes1 We found it and got checked in. We were finally on our way to the Boardwalk. It had been several hours since DD got sick on the plane. She was really hungry and had eaten a lot of fruit. Things were looking up. Untill....she puked on the ME bus. This time we were a little more prepared. I had been clutching the barf bag from the airplane out of fear she would do it again and it was a good thing I had it. We finally arrived at the Boardwalk and checked into our Boardwalk view studio villa. We had an amazing view of Spaceship Earth. It was night so it was all lit up. Daddy and mommy were starving, but didn't want to eat in front of Harper because we knew she would have wanted to eat too. Even though I was hungry, I didn't have much of an appetite. Be it my nerves from DD's vomiting or just being puked on in general. While hanging around the room we had our bags delivered pretty quickly and also a really nice fruit basket from my parents. Which was really nice to have around. We all went to sleep and hoped our actual first day would be better.

Day One

Thursday March 1 EPCOT/MK
We had made it through the night without anymore episodes and of course in the morning DD was hungry. Thanks to my parents for the fruit basket so we had an apple to feed her. That would be gentle on her tummy. She ate the whole thing and then ate most of a donut at the Boardwalk Bakery too. She was fine now. The location of the Boardwalk is so awesome. If you can swing it I would recommend the resort. We had rented points from someone I met on the Dis. We have done this twice now and it the way to stay deluxe!! Huge money savings. My initial plan was to go to MK this day to take advantage of the EMH morning, but since Harper had been sick I just let everyone sleep in. We went to EPCOT after eating at the Bakery and stopped to purchase an autograph book and fat pen. I had told DD about autographs and she wanted her Disney Friends to sign her book. She kind of became a character monster throughout the trip. We were taking it easy this day since Harper had been sick. We headed to The Seas with Nemo and Friends. I have to say. I was pretty disappointed in the actual ride. I dont know what I was expecting, but it was a little more than what it was. Turtle Talk was cute but kind of short and it was fun looking at the aquariums. DD like having her picuture in Bruce's mouth. We did the Kidcot station but she really could have cared less. We also visited the Land and did the boat ride and ate lunch at the food court. I really wanted to ride Soarin' but the wait was too long and the fastpasses were already out into later in the day. The highlight of the morning was the Character Connection and Harper meeting her Disney Friends. She wanted mommy to hold her but she really enjoyed them. She met Mickey, Pluto, Goofy, Minnie and Chip and Dale. She blew kisses and gave high fives and smiled for the camera. Mommy was sooo excited how well she did meeting the characters. After that we then stopped at Journey Into Imagination. I don't know what it is, but they could do so much with this attraction. It really needs a change. DD was getting tired so we decided to head back for a nap. Along the way we saw Alice and Mary Poppins in the UK. DD didn't want to stop. Halfway back to the room she decided she wanted to see Alice. Sorry Charlie. I told her we would meet Alice a different time. We never did get to meet Alice. We went back to the room and had a good nap. We had 5:30 reservations for 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian.

More later. Thanks for reading.:wave2:

I'm first! Yea!

You sure were lucky! That storm dumped well over a foot of snow at our house...and I heard it was more where you live...?:scared1:

Then I guess your luck ran out... good thing you were prepared for battle of the barf bags!

Can't wait to hear more! Your Harper may be a lot like my Tink (TROUBLE).

Trouble would be a good name for Harper. When is your DD's bday? Harper's is October 30.

More Day One Fun

We took a nap and had to leave our room at 4:30 to head to the Grand Floridan to make our 5:30 ressie at 1900 Park Fare. I decided to take what I thought would be the quickest means of transportation. The Monorail. I was wrong. We did make it in time though. (No suspense with my trip reports!:thumbsup2 ) We had to walk all the way through EPCOT, which took a lot longer than I thought. We got right on the monorail from EPCOT but had to wait at the TTC to switch. We did make it right at 5:30. We checked in after waiting behind a guy who's reservation was messed up. We met the Fairy Godmother and then was seated. They recommended to us that DD sit on the outside of the table to get to see the characters well. The food was AWESOME!! I really enjoyed the prime rib, the parmesan red skinned mashed potatoes:yay: , and the alfredo pasta with shrimp and asparagus. Daddy even liked it and he is not a fan of buffets because of a food safety issue. He thought this one was well taken care of and very yummy. Harper cleaned her plate of pizza, pasta and corn and got to have a bowl of ice cream. We met Cinderella, Prince Charming and Suzy and Perla. Harper did not like Suzy and Perla. So no pics with Suzy and Perla.

The first few days of the trip the weather people kept saying we were going to have severe storms and rain. It never happened. The night we went to 1900, it was suppose to be a major storm. It never came so we went to the Magic Kingdom after dinner. By the time we got in people were lining up to wait for Spectro, so Fantasyland had pretty much no waits. We rode Peter Pan and Small World and maybe Dumbo. I don't remember really. A big mistake was walking through Fantasyland during Wishes. It was beautiful, but Harper was freaked. The fireworks were pretty much being shot off over our heads. She hated the fireworks the rest of the trip. Oops. We headed back to the room and went to bed.
Day Two...MGM, ESPN the Weekend and EPCOT.

very nice reports.........I remember our gd;s first trip to Disney and the fireworks were over her head too.....who would of thought that......and she had her ears plugged the rest of the week.......the minute night time came.......thanks so much for your report and Harper sounds like a little doll

Day Two
March 1
MGM/EPCOT

We went to MGM today to enjoy ESPN the weekend which was part of the reason we came at this time of year. We took the boat from the Boardwalk to MGM. That is really a nice relaxing little ride. We got to the park and they had a really cool tailgating display made up with my dream car. A Hummer H3.:faint: I love that car. (We looked at the one at Test Track and Harper said she liked it!) Anyhoo....we decided to do somethings for Harper in the morning so we watched Playhouse Disney, Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast. Harper really enjoyed Beauty and the Beast. We were able to meet some Disney Friends. JoJo and Goliath, June and Quincy from Little Einstiens and Sorcerer Mickey. We also met Woody and Buzz. Harper really liked Buzz. Daddy has always liked Brown Derby so we stopped at the little building on Hollywood Blvd (I think??) to see if they had any ressies for lunch. We were not on the dining plan. Otherwise I would NOT have waisted 2 credits on Brown Derby for lunch. They had one at 1130 so we took it. We arrived for lunch a little early and watched others arrive for their reservations and some just walk in and everyone was being seated quickly except for us. I finally said something and somehow they had lost our reservation even though we had checked in. Oh well we got seated quickly after that. Daddy and I both ordered the Cobb salad. I forgot how big they are. We really should have shared it. I forgot what Harper had. Probably grilled cheese because that is pretty much all she asked for the entire trip. Daddy got tired of his salad. He had forgotten they chopped it up so fine. I think he actually said it seemed like someone had already chewed it up. :scared1: About a month before the trip Harper began potty training. She had been doing really well, but I thought for safety sake we would use pull ups. During this meal she told me she had to go #2 so I took her and held her on the big toilet and she went. Proud mommy moment!!:woohoo: I decided this child was potty trained and let her wear her "big girl underwear" for the rest of the trip accident free.:yay:
After lunch we watched some ESPN stuff on the main stage which was in front of the sorcerers hat. I really wish they would take down that hat. I thought the Chinese Theater was suppose to be the "castle" of the park. It makes sense. MGM is suppose to be about the movies and the Chinese Theater in pretty historical in LA. Sorry.. Anyhoo...Harper was getting sleepy so I told Daddy to stay and enjoy ESPN and we went back to the room. I loved the proximity of the Boardwalk. Mommy and Harper rode the boat back to the resort to take naps. Harper slept well, Mommy had just dosed off when Daddy came back. He had stayed for and few hours and saw several athletes. I decided I was no longer tired so I went to do some laundry. Remember I had some pukey clothes to wash.:laundy: So I did laundry and watched Ellen. I love Ellen. She is so funny. This was the afternoon that I started to cough. Yippy. When I got back to the room and few hours later I think daddy and Toots was still sleeping. I don't remember. Everyone woke up or got woke up and we went to ESPN Club for dinner. Unfortunately, we got a waiter on his first night. Needless to say it was the longest meal at ESPN Club ever and Harper was being especially naughty.
We finally finshed our meal and paid our bill and headed to EPCOT. It was EMH evening and I thought we could do a few more things at EPCOT. Well Club Cool was closed and Innovations was closed and we had already done pretty much everything else. Harper and Mommy shared a Mickey Ice Cream sandwich. Yummy. Sorry but they are way better than Mickey Bars. I checked the wait on Soarin but it was too long as I expected. They should look into a single rider line on that ride. We went to Mission Space and looked in the gift shop and went to Test Track to look and my Hummer. By this evening I was losing my voice and coughing a lot. Yeah. We headed back to the room and went to bed. Tomorrow is more MGM and ESPN fun.
