I noticed that Chakra balancing capsule on the spa treatments list. If you have tried this can you please give me your thoughts. I have heard that 30 minutes in one of these is supposed to provide the equivalent of 3 hours of sleep. Not sure if it is true or not...

I did it a long time ago and was not impressed, but I don't fall asleep easily in that sort of thing. A massage or seaweed wrap is much quicker to put me to sleep!

It has always been one of my favorites. A no-hands on session, just you tucked inside a very warm egg shaped dome(head sticks out) with headphones on and a warm lavender compress on your eyes. As the temperature increases, so does the smell of lavender and the gentle motion of the capsule does lull you into a very comfortable state of rest. I won't go so far as to say it would take the place of a nap but it is very restful to me.
I've taken the package deal often (3 times per cruise for about $90).

My Mom didn't like it at all, said the vibration was too noisy and distractive to her. Tom refused because he doesn't like the idea of being shut up (you can get out easily if you want to!).

Worth a try if you are thinking about it!!

I could not get a comfortable temp when I tried it. If I turned the temp up a little I got too warm, but if I turned it down just a degree then I would get too cold. It has a warming period which feels really nice, but then it shuts off (because if it kept warming up you would broil), and at the end of the cooling off period I would be cold. So I was in a constant state of "not quite comfy".

I wasn't thrilled with this at all. Having a sleep disorder, I jumped at the thought that this was suppose to be equivalent to 3 hours of sleep. The constant thumping of the basketball court above didn't help either.

Personally, I fell asleep in the Rainforest. I got the week pass and it was much more worth the money.

Regardless of where you are at the Spa, the noise from the basketball court is ALWAYS a problem! Guess this was just one of the design flaws that the rumored third ship can correct!!!

As for temperature control with the Chakra, like most things at the Spa - IF the maintenance isn't done, then things break down. So many times there were problems in the Rainforest that I no longer take a week long pass but a daily one. We have received credit when things weren't working though.

I did the special package for 3 treatments. My girlfriend took one and she enjoyed it, but I can say I couldn't totally relax. During the first treatment, someone was working with a personal trainer in the room and I could hear them talking. The second time was more enjoyable, but I sure didn't feel like I had slept, only more relaxed.

I used the Chakra capsule almost every day when I was on the cruise...one day I booked 2 in a row so I could stay in longer! I was asleep within minutes of getting in. It was SO relaxing...gentle vibration, eyes covered, soft music playing in the earphones (never heard a basketball when I was in there)....It is one of the things I am looking forward to next cruise!

I love the chakra! It is the one must that I have to do once onboard! In fact, I like the longer session. I am not one the falls asleep easily, and in this chakra, I am alseep within 5 minutes. I always wake up refreshed and rejuvenated! I want one of these in my home!

I knew going in that I was a little claustrophobic but oh my word I ended up having to get out about 12 minutes into it. If you are the slightest bit claustrophobic I would not recommend this.

Ditto.

I hated it. I did fall asleep but woke up in a panic feeling like I was trapped and couldn't get out. I'd say, go take a nap in your room with the door shut and the curtains drawn and save your money.

I loved the capsule. I did the Booster package ( I think that's what it's called?) where I did the hydrobath first, which had me totally relaxed. Then when I did the capsule, I was so relaxed that I swear I had an out of body experience and a past life regression. But then again, I felt the same way after spending too much time at the Signals pool bar. :drinking1

The price wasn't too bad, so why not give it a try?
