Can Pandas Fly?? Well we were about to find out. The hard part about getting Panda to the airport was getting him there without him knowing where he was going. How to do it?? TGB got a couple of other members of our clan to join in on the deception. Here is where I will introduce Big Pink and Firm Blondie. BP and FB had the small but critical role of keeping the lie going by showing up to take Panda and TGB out to dinner in SF. To make a long story short (see Shhh!! Its a Surprise Chapter 2: Operation Youre Going to Disneyworld and Shhh!! Its a Surprise Chapter 3: If I get Sick I'm Doing it in Your Direction by GrowinupDisney) they along with TGB made it into SFO without Panda even knowing where he was (short of guessing that he was in a parking garage). Once the cat was out of the bag and we all surprised him with his 30th bday Survival Kit, the real bomb was dropped. HE WAS GOING TO WDW FOR A WEEK!!! Shock. Tears. More shock. Amazement. Shock again. Poor guy.
So what were Nala and I doing while we were waiting?? We arrived earlier than planned to SFO so we went ahead and ate something while we monitored our trusty Starfleet Communicators for any secret communications from TGB (she was deep in enemy space and could not talk freely) as to their arrival time. We had a prearranged spot in the garage and she was simply going to key the transmit button as they entered the parking garage and we would know they were inbound to our position. They arrived and after all of the pomp and circumstance we made our collective way to the check-in counter. Ever had that feeling that you should have chartered your own cargo plane? For only four of us, we had luggage for about 10. Weird isnt it. Are all of these our bags?
We had a rather uneventful flight (I skipped the movie and brought my own. I highly recommend a personal DVD player) and landed in sunny Orlando and FROZE!! I thought this was Florida? I know it gets cold here but it was a small shock. Not to worry. We get our bags, rent the car, and we are off like a herd of turtles to The Poly. I must admit, I had reservations about this place only because I spend a lot of time in Hawaii for real.
The Poly: Is it live or is it Memorex?
