Don't know if we've met, hi, I'm Perry.
One thing that I think would REALLY help you is if you kind of figured out where you want the plot to go beyond Lily's suicide attempt, if I understood what Bri just said correctly. Outlining the plot a bit more helps other people figure out where they can fit themselves in, or what they might be comfortable doing. It also helps set the boundaries, so people know whether everyone should just be incoming freshmen, or which characters would be too young or old, and it also helps save you from That One Person (totally not picking anyone out, just in most things in life there's always that one guy) who might want a vampire or a werewolf or a Mia Thermopolis-esque princess or whatever else their minds come up with.
Anyway, I've actually done a couple different suicides (I've been here for years, don't mean to brag but I'm one of the RP veterans ere, I've done many), so I think there are a few questions that might help you to at least think about. Why is she committing suicide? Is she doing it because she sees no other way out and she's desperate or has she tried and nothing's worked so she's given up hope? Did she plan it out or is she doing it on a whim? Is there anyone she feels guilty about leaving behind? Does she have family, and if she does are they purposely or accidentally driving her towards suicide? Would she try again? If she fails and goes to like a group therapy thing, would she sympathize with other people who failed or think they're weak?
Anyway, hope this helps and hope I'm not overwhelming you or pressuring you or sounding bossy, just trying to give you help from your Friendly Neighborhood Perry.
