Hey, I know there are alot of "moving to Florida" threads and I've been looking at quite a few of them. I am thinking of moving to Florida in the Fall. I have two good friends that live down there. One(Kim) was my BFF growing up and i was maid of honor at her wedding, she lives in Apopka. The other(heidi) has been a close friend for 10 yr, she lives in Port Saint Lucie. I was leaning more towards St Lucie because Heidi works less and she has been the one really trying to get me to move. Kim has mentioned it before too.
After reading some of the posts tho it seems like ppl were trying to steer others aways from the east coast of FL.
I work in retail and can transfer my job to either area. My main concerns are crime, as i am a female and my 20s and will living alone and affordability. I looked at apartmets online and the rents seem comparable in both places but people have mentioned insurence and utilities and such being higher on the east coast.
I visited them both last October for a few days and both areas seemed nice but what can you tell after a only few days. I would appreciate opinions from people who live in either of these areas
