Cell phones at Disney

I have Sprint and have never had a problem.

One time one of my friends called up another of our friends (who wasn't on the trip with us) from inside It's a Small World. He didn't say anything when the friend picked up, he just held the phone up so our friend could hear the singing! :rotfl2: Eventually, he did talk to the guy, who was cracking up about our calling him from on the ride.

On another (non-Disney) trip, we were pulling pranks calling from one room to another at the hotel we were at. Well, one of my friends in my room was watching Jerry Springer on the TV and it was just at the part where the audience was shouting, "Jerry! Jerry! Jerry!" so I held the phone up to the TV speaker for our friend to hear. :rotfl: When I finally listened to him on the phone, he was cracking up.

Ahh, good times, good times!! :goodvibes

We have Verizon and had called them to check about roaming, etc.

They told us to type in some code.. (can't remember it now, although I will call and get it again for our upcoming trip) any..hoo.... I guess it does something to update and add newer towers??? not sure...:sad2: not very savy with that kind of thing.

My family all have different carriers (I'm on Cingular) and we used our phones throughout our trip to Disney World last year as walkie - talkies. As we were a group of 6 (the youngest being 14), we would seperate and reunite as a group every day. I remember thinking: How did we do Disney without cell phones?!

We have Sprint and had no problem with reception in the parks. Oddly enough though, inside our room at ASM, we were getting hit with a roaming fee. Step outside the door, and voila, no problem. Kinda odd. So we ended up talking on cells with the door open at the resort.

When we went in 2004, we had Sprint then (still do) and inside the Shades of Green rooms, we got ZERO reception. Step out on the balcony and it got a little better. In the parks was no problem though.

Oh, yes, no problem here with SunCom--I have a pic of DH at his own birthday dinner at MGM with the cell phone glued to his ear on a business call! No problem with my Alltel either--sometimes I wish there was!

I have TMobile and my DH has Metro PCS. My phone has always worked fine, and now DH's phone works great since they have a new tower in Orlando.

We have Verizon and have had no issues whatsoever.

My brother and his family have Cingular and have also had no problems.

We have Sprint and had great reception last trip.

If I remember correctly, the bus-drivers had Nextel phones, as did our guide on the Behind the Seeds Tour.

Cingular should use this thread for their advertisement. My phone has no problems at Disney.

My wife and I have Verizon. We have not had any problems with our phones at Disney Parks. The only time is when we were at CBR, we would have to go outside our room to get a better signal.
