has anyone else had an issue trying to use their cell at WDW?? Mine completely went caput while we were there. I thought it was broken---none of the buttons worked and kept trying to connect to the internet. Then my husbands kept telling him that service unavailable?? We had planned on using them to meet up with friends, but we both had issues with phone service. Anyone else?

the only one i ever heard of that had a problem was virgin.. then i heard virgin doesn't have a problem.. but i think it was a roaming issue.

there is in fact a nextel tree.. er.. tower on site

We had problems with our IPhone locating the 3G network while we were there. Also in the hotel rooms at CBR we had no service. One of us has AT&7 service (the Iphone) and the other has Verizon.

It's a conspiracy. All cell phone conversations are scrambled by Disney. They want no contact with the outside world while you're there. You will be assimulated. :rotfl2:

At Pop Century in August I had no service (Alltel) inside the buildings. I wasn't real happy about it since I had to go stand out in Faye's rain to make a phone call. I have never had this issue before, but we never stayed at Pop before...and it was a new phone, a Blackberry Curve, and I have not been impressed with it's signal several times. People call me (even at home) and I sometimes not only doesn't it ring, I never even get a missed call message. So maybe it was the phone. It was also the first time we ever stayed at a Value resort. So I don't know if it was the location of Pop or something in the construction (big giant bowling balls blocking my signal???) or that blasted Blackberry---but it was very annoying.

We have AT&T (formerly Cingular) and have never had an issue with our cell phones.

I have Verizon and have never had a problem...only place I couldn't get a signal was in Soarin...not on the ride but when I was waiting in line.

I was kind of wondering if the electronics, etc at Disney interfered with the signal? I could get a signal at CBR but no where in any of the parks.

I didn't have any problems with mine (verizon) and DH worked too (Nextel) which I thought would be bad!

I use ATT. Sometimes at Epcot it will go to "no service" then go back by itself. Sometimes I will have to turn it off and reset it to get my service back.

We always stay at CBR and when we had a sprint phone we always had trouble keeping a signal in our room! Pretty annoying!

I hope our At & t phones work in Nov. There are some things that me and my daughter want to do and then the boys have some stuff they want to do... so we were going to use them "to meet up" afterwards.

we stayed at Pop in September...had no trouble with our Alltel cell phones there (were able to use them in the room just fine, so maybe it's just some buildings or rooms have worse reception?)

As for at the parks, the only place we had reception issues was in the snake like for Soarin'...tried to contact DD since we were supposed to be meeting soon to leave the park for the night...couldn't get a signal to send her a text message until we got to the top of the Soarin' ramp and turned the corner to go to where the turnstyles are (where they would take your Fastpass if you had one:rotfl: ) Then the text went...and we found out she was in the line behind us about 50 people.

Other than that, we were always able to use our alltel phones.

I would have a back up plan, because this was our plan to meet up with friends, and then the cell phones didn't work.

I've had Sprint for many years. Jan 3, last year I had a problem on the parking lot of AK. Since then, I've checked it a couple times to see if I had a signal and I always do. I cannot explain why I had the problem, but it hasn't appeared again.

I have never had a problem with calls anywhere else on property.

I have an iphone and the only time I had no signal was in line for Soarin. My DH had more problems with his 8125. He now has a tilt so we'll see.
