We took our first family trip to DL last month (loved it) and we saw Kathy Ireland (the famous model, now doing other things). It was funny because she had on no makeup and was wearing big sunglasses. She was with her kids and no nanny or anything and looked kinda frazzled. We saw her and I said "she looks like Kathy Ireland". I saw her again and she was just walking up to rides without having to wait and I said "OK, that IS Kathy Ireland." I didn't talk to her or anything -- she was with her kids and I didn't want to bother them. Later, in LAX, there was this guy in front of us and my husband thought he looked familiar. It was the fashion guy from Extreme Makeover. Funny how they look so "regular" in real life!
Just wondered if anyone else has spotted celebs?????

Hmmm I'll keep a look out in May.

Well, this wasn't Disneyland, because I have never been there yet. I went to Disney World this past December htough, and I saw Mickey Mouse! :) lol :cool1:

The makeup that celebs wear is so heavy, it turns them into another person. I bet I wouldn't recognize anyone.

I saw Patricia Arquette at the Blue Bayou last year. Saw some chick from Nickelodeon a few years ago (only found out who she was, because some kids were all excited about spotting her), saw Bobby Sherman many years ago in the Main St train station. Sometimes you can spot them (like Arquette), because they're so carefully dressed to hide themselves (sunglasses, big hats, etc). Makes them stand out more, in spite of what they might think.

they are "regular"...its people who make them into gods or something...i'll never understand...they are the same as you and me and I personally dont think they should be treated any better than you and me...if someone comes to the park then they should have to wait in line just like the rest of us...i really hate how they get treated like royalty.:furious:..ok im done with my tantrum :guilty:

A few weeks ago, while talking to Farley the Fiddler in front of Pioneer Mercantile, I saw Neil Patrick Harris (aka Doogie Howser). There were a few other CMs around and they pointed him out. I see celebrities quite often there.

ooh ooh I saw Harrison Ford! Oh wait a minute that was just an animatronic...hahaha lol. No I haven't seen anyone famous there although I did see Bill Cosby at Hotel Del Coronado but I haven't seen anyone famous at Disney. I hope to one day!

You mentioned she was just walking up to rides without waiting in line. Do all celebrities get this luxury? That doesn't seem fair.

I saw Fantasia Barrino and some horrible woman who was on Trading Spouses the same day.

My friend was there 2 wks ago and saw the guy who played "booger" in revenge of the nerds. and 3 yrs ago in DCA we saw pierce brosnan(i think that is spelled wrong) i would totally have missed him if it werent for DH pointing him out. he looked way different.ofcoarse i tried to get closer to him  i am usually so involved with seeing DL that i miss alot.

From what I've heard, celebs and their families are often escorted through the park and are brought in through the ride's exit or some other access area so that they can go straight to the head of the line, ride the ride, and then escorted to the next ride.

Of course, I'm sure that this all depends on how "big" the celeb is - at the moment.

I had to laugh when I heard Kelly Ripa say how exhausting it was for her to take her kids to Disney and go on all the rides with them. Yeah...like she has to do Fast Pass, or stand in that Dumbo line like the rest of the world. The poor thing!

We were there in February of this year and we saw Brad Garrett - the tall guy on Everybody Loves Raymond. He had on glasses and about 3 days worth of stubble (haha). I would never have recognized him until I heard him speak to a CM. His voice is very deep --and distinct.

Not sure who this lady was, but last Wednesday around 10am I was sitting in front of Casey Jr. waiting for the kids, and this important looking lady came walking by, with three Disney bigwigs in suits walking with her, one was even walking in front of her picking up trash with tongs before she could see it, and her assistant was there with a camera. They stopped right in front of me, all I got out of it was that her name was Kim. She never spoke a word. Her assistant did all the talking. She casually walked over to different areas, pointed, and her assistant started taking pictures of what she had pointed at. The suits trailed behind her like lapdogs! Very weird. They strolled around Fantasyland for awhile and then left.

About 2 years ago at DCA we saw one of the actors from the military show JAG. He was with his family. He was waiting in lines just like the rest of us. From what I saw those that recognized him pretty much just left him alone and let him be with his family.

My understanding is that it's up to each individual celebrity whether or not they want the VIP treatment. Some might have a limited amount of time or just do not want to try to get around the parks on their own, especially if it's crowded (it was when I saw Neil Patrick Harris a few weeks ago and he did have a couple of guest relations CMs with him and his party). Others would just as soon be treated like a normal, everyday guest. I've seen both happen.

I heard (don't recall source) that celebs have to pay like $300 an hour if they want the VIP/tour guide treatment.

I'll stand in line!

We saw Oprah there last summer when she took that class of kids and their teacher. Since they were filming it really put restrictions on the park...Fantasyland closed for a while and they wouldnt let anyone on Buzz(we had FPs and werent allowed in).

We started at Goofys Kitchen that day and her and the kids were next door with tons of Disney security swarming around in the lobby area. Then we ran into them in the park watching the parade.

Just recently we were in DL and went to a Celtics/Lakers game. There we saw a ton of celebs...Jack Nicholson, Regis, Hines Ward, Jerome Bettis(sp?), Dyan Cannon, Donald Sutherland (we think), Woody Harrelson, Jim Carey...

When we saw Kathy Ireland, she didn't have any attendants with her, but she was walking to the "exits" on rides and getting on. I did notice a big sign on her backpack that had a number. Don't know what that signified.
I wonder if the reason they can get special treatment is the hysteria it could cause if a big star was waiting in line? Maybe it could get too out of hand or something? Not sure, but I wish I could walk onto the rides lol!!
I don't consider myself a star struck person, but it's kind of fun to hear everyone's stories of who've they've seen . . .

Well, I'm friends with voice actor Wally Wingert and he went to Disneyland with Bill Farmer on May 4, 2005 for celebrities-only day. Bill is the official current voice of Goofy for all Disney shows/movies. At one point, they spotted a booth selling alcohol. I assume they were in DCA and saw the Karl Strauss booth. Bill pointed and said in Goofy's voice, "Hey, look! BOOZE!" That had Wally cracking up for days. :rotfl2:
