I was at the park today, and saw Corey Feldman, his wife Susie and their son! They were pretty incognito. Well, except for the gigantic body guard that was with them! They seemed to be enjoying their day at the parks, and enjoying their privacy as well so we didnt bother them (or jump up and down screaming "OMG its COREY FELDMAN!!!!") I would have taken a picture, but my camera battery was dead! Figures! lol

Yes, he was in Lost Boys, Goonies, Stand By Me, etc. He also, more recently, had his own "reality" tv show with Corey Haim, (another 80's star) called "The Two Coreys". Corey Feldman was also on "The Surreal Life" in 2003.

Not sure if he actually needed the body guard or not, but he did stand guard while Corey was in the Men's room! Maybe Corey has had some run-ins with crazed fans in the potty? hahahahaha

Maybe they were enjoying their privacy so much because no one knew who they were, but I did! And I was thrilled to see them! I wish I had been brave enough to say hi, but the body guard kind of put me off! lol

That is exactly what I was thinking! I mean, please... bigger stars than Corey Feldman go to DLR all the time and don't have giant bodyguards with them. They may have plaids, but not big, obvious bodyguards! I can see if Britney Spears goes to DLR, she may qualify for a big guard. Madonna goes to DLR (though I don't think she is fun enough to take her kids to DLR!), sure, get a bodyguard. But Corey Feldman? Give me a break. Does he think he has achieved mass superstardom since recently appearing on "The Two Coreys"? "The Lost Boys" was out back in 1987!

Also, Corey and his wife are strict vegans, I think - not vegetarians - so they must have had a fun time requesting special meals everywhere they went. I guess he could use his scary big Corey Feldman fame to get the meals the way he wanted them!!

They probably make their kid follow the same lifestyle, and that made me sad too. No treats for you kiddo! Ick! That sounds awful (the tofu corn dog). I always have trouble with the 'tofurkeys' that are out at this time of year for Thanksgiving! I don't eat corn dogs as a rule, and only once in a blue moon will I eat a really good hot dog (smothered in chil! ), but a tofu dog is not the same, it is never going to be the same, no matter how one tries to make it like the orginal!!

Anyway, it is interesting because most of here on DISboards - I would say 90% of us - enjoy the WHOLE Disneyland experience, from the ambience to the rides to the shops to the special details around the resort to the FOOD and so on. You don't have to go crazy with the treats, but it is nice to indulge in a couple of them when you are there - especially if you don't eat that way normally. Or go all out and have a big ol' character meal when you normally would just eat yogurt for breakfast or whatever! It is the time to let loose and go wild! So, even though DLR is attempting to make more accommodations for those with different eating requirements these days and is incorporating healthier alternatives on their menus, it will never be 100% slanted towards vegan or vegetarian or gluten-free, etc. It leaves me wondering if people who do have those rigid dietary restrictions can fully immerse themselves in the whole DLR experience, because they always have to be mindful of what they eat or can't eat, sometimes for health reasons, as certain foods could provoke allergic reactions or other responses. It must be tough for them.

I agree - Corey and Susie probably do not let the child eat any of that bad (good!) stuff, either, but if the child is used to eating the way they eat, then it probably won't make much of a difference if they don't buy the Mickey ice cream bars. However, seeing all that fun Mickey-shaped food around, and being in the midst of the colors and the smells and the holiday goodies everywhere must be really enticing for the child. How could it not be? So I wonder if they just go nuts and let the kid have a Mickey treat, or if they are just against it every step of the way.

That's so cool! Christine saw Corey at Comic Con at one of the Exhibit Hall booths. She didn't say hi or anything, just "Oh, it's Corey Feldman!" She tried to get a picture on her camera phone and it came out blurry. Her friend got a better picture. Another friend of mine actually has met him and got autographs. Ninja Turtle stuff since he was the voice of Donatello in TMNT 1 and 3 movies.

He is one of those celebrities that could easily blend into a crowd and never get noticed - that is, if he didn't have his huge bodyguard with him to make him stand out! I know he has been in a lot of movies and is an infamous child star with a drug history and all, but if he were wearing sunglasses and just a t-shirt and jeans, walking with his wife through the masses at DLR, I am not sure how many people would even know who he was! It is amazing how much these celebrities sort of begin to look like evryone else when they are in a very crowded place like DL, in the heat and standing in lines and all that. Maybe people would notice Brangelina, but I'm thinking Corey could easily get lost in the crowds and never be seen.

I wonder if Corey knows he can get a Plaid? I mean, the Plaids draw attention to the 'celebrity' as well, but maybe not as much a huge bodyguard does. The Plaids could just be mistaken for festively-attired Cast Members, merrily strolling through the parks!!

i'm veg. so is my daughter. when we went two years ago, we were able to fully enjoy disneyland. trust me. you don't really need to feel sorry for someone because they eat different from you. there are tons of vegan treats out in the world, it's not like the kid never gets sweets.

when my son went to that booth at comic con the entire table insisted he and corey take a picture together, as they said my son was a younger version of corey. . now I do not see what they were, cuz well i'm his mom and i see no resemblence, but the entire table said this to him, so here ya go:

I always assumed that there was plenty to eat for vegetarians and vegans at DLR, especially in 2008, but there have been some people who are vegans and vegetarians who have complained in the past here on DISboards that they can't find enough food options at DLR, so it seemed that it may be a problem for vegans when they are there, based on reports - especially for a multi-day stay. That is great to hear that it can be done and plenty of enjoyment can be had for everyone!

As a former vegan, that kind of statement is ridiculous. Vegans definitely aren't missing out on anything, and generally don't feel that they are.

There are also lots of delicious vegan and vegetarian treats. Everything that tastes good doesn't have meat or dairy or animal products in it.

And as for "making" their kids follow their lifestyle, how is that any different than you or anyone else making their kids follow a meat eating lifestyle? I've never met a vegetarian who wouldn't allow their kids to try meat. In fact, most of the vegetarians that I know have kids who eat meat. I have, however, met lots of omni parents who refuse to support their kids who choose to go vegetarian, and refuse to make them vegetarian meals or buy vegetarian food. My own parents did this with my daughter, who chose on her own to become vegetarian, and they told her that she was silly. I cannot tell you how many people would crack jokes to me about how they were going to sneak her meat when I wasn't looking, or how I needed to make sure that she was getting enough protein (Yet, I've never asked parents of meat-eating kids if they were getting enough fiber).

And I bet if I gave you a vegetarian corn dog, you'd never be able to tell the difference.

That's cool you spotted a celebrity. We were there last month (10/24) and we saw Adam Sandler pushing a stroller towards the front of Main Street. He didn't have any bodyguards and was accompanied by a CM in a plaid vest. He blended well with the crowds. I only noticed him because he was walking straight towards me and I had shades on, so I could get a good look. My husband didn't even notice until I nudged him once he passed and he got a look afterwards.
