Has anyone stayed here? If so, what did you think? We are a family of 5, looking for accommodations 12/27/08-1/1/09. It looks like a good deal online, and was rated pretty high by the UOG.

Thanks!

We've stayed there a couple times. We find it to be just fine for use. We have stayed in the 3 BR (third BR is a den with a foldout couch) each time. The location is great and the space in the rooms are wonderful. I would definitely stay there again. There are plenty of places to eat nearby as well.

Is this the one off of Poinciana Blvd.? If so we checked out of our unit after day two of a seven day stay.

Unit we were given looked nothing like the model we were shown beforehand (when asked to view type of room we'd be staying in). Model shown was beautiful with large bright kitchen, dining and living room, nice bedrooms and great bathroom with jacuzzi tub all on one floor.

Unit we were given was a two story with cramped, dark kitchen, dining and living room all on first floor with two bedrooms upstairs sharing the one bathroom. Very dark upstairs, no TV in second bedroom. A/C vent coming off wall with I think mold or something coming out of it.

There is no balcony, just a window to look out of. We had a pool/dumpster view. And guess what, at 1:45 a.m. the first night we were there, the garbage trucks came collecting from said dump. Yes, that's right - 1:45 a.m.. Then wasn't able to go back to sleep until 4:00 a.m.

We had to sweep and vaccuum unit when we checked in because it wasn't cleaned very well. The second night there I got up from the dining room table (was in my bare feet) and apparently there was broken glass there from the previous stay or so that wasn't vaccuumed up very well. Sooooo, I got glass in my foot that I couldn't get out and had to end up going to an urgent care nearby for the doctor to numb my foot (with a needle in the cut itself! - hurt like hell) at any rate, she was able to get out the five pieces of glass that were stuck in my foot and even though they were small, felt the size of a boulder when I walked. I normally wouldn't take time out of my vacation to try to visit an urgent care but it was either that or limp around Disney World with glass in my foot for the next six days.

Pool near our unit was just a plain rectangular concrete pool, nothing special about it (read boring).

We checked out hurriedly on the morning of the third day (after trying to find a different room at Celebrity Resorts or anywhere in Orlando through Interval International but was told everything was booked) to go to Port Orleans Riverside for 4 more days. (Luckily my dad had annual passes and got a decent rate).

Once we got checked in to Port Orleans I called Interval and let them know our stay was pretty unacceptable and was given our timeshare week back and our exchange fee we paid to stay at Celebrity Resorts with no questions ask, so I wonder if they've gotten similar complaints. Also, when I checked out of there, I asked to speak to a superviser/manager and the girl at the front said she was a superviser. I told her of everything that went on and she kind of cringed and apologized when I listed the complaints but nothing else was really said.

I normally don't complain when I stay places if there are problems, but to me everything added up together there kind of pushed us over the edge.

At any rate hope this helps you some in making a decision.

This is not the one on Ponciana Blvd. It is on Palm Parkway in Lake Buena Vista. If you have the whole 3 bedroom it is around 1200 sq.ft. We were there in 2006 just after the renovations were done. The unit was nice for the week to stay in. No problems with maintenace issues, front desk staff were a little stunned, had quite a few phone calls from family and friends and they kept telling them we were not registered there? Small pool but if you plan on spending most of your time at parks, etc. you should enjoy your stay at this resort. Great location to everything, lots of restaurants within walking distance.

We were there in fall 2006, pretty sure I gave it an "average" rating as I was expecting an older, repainted timeshare and that's what it was. While some things looked updated, other stuff looked like it was well-used and leftover from 1986. Do not know what they do to replace carpets, but it is not enough; they turn off the A/C completely when not in use, so the units that are not used often really do get that musty/moldy thing. It is not a resort hotel, but older timeshare (so no services, small pool, no resort amenities). Decent location, but unless the price was unbelievably cheap, we'd look elsewhere. FWIW.
