Interesting story....

So, my fiance and I have started the planning for our awesome October 2012 wedding. (For those wondering, a PJ will be up soon.. excited, especially as a guy doing one). Anyways, when I was a kid growing up, I was always into professional wrestling. I still am, however the older generation of stuff was always my cup of tea. There was specifically a wrestler who has a strong religious background, and makes a really nice gig out of speeches, events and other special occasions since his hayday in pro wrestling. He has done a lot of weddings in the past, which has me jumping with total excitment now that I have the possibility of having him officiate at our wedding.

I brought this up to my fiance, and although at first it sounded weird, she understood he wouldn't be wearing tights at the ceremony.

We have the contacts in place on booking the wrestler as our officiant, so it wouldn't be so hard to do so.

So, my question is has anyone had a wedding that has had a famous (or somewhat famous) guest or in this case, officiant?

Second question...

With planning the songs and our dance, we have come up with an awesome surprise and also a treat for the both of us. Like the above wrestler, we know where we are able to book a world famous singer to do a live singing of our song during the reception. It may sound far fetched, however with our contacts, we are able to pull it off and stay within our budget. The question is, what is Disney's stance on this? Is this even possible?

All feedback welcome.. haha. ;)

Who are you talking about as your officiant? Let me know how this goes. My fiancé is a huge pro wrestling fan and he'd love that.

The original "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase. I met him when I was a kid. I'll keep you updated!

That's awesome! It just made me laugh because I rent a house from my brother, and he had his old Million Dollar Man WWF Wrestling Buddy in a closet, and I found it, showed my fiance, and it has been sitting next to my chair for months because I forget to put him away. So I just had to look over at my brother's wrestling buddy and smile. :)

Good luck with everything! :goodvibes

For the singer, it depends on where your reception venue is. For example, an in park venue and Atlantic Dance Hall won't allow you to bring in any outside entertainment. Same goes for any location that is outside, in public viewing areas (like Sea Breeze Point).

For other locations, I believe Disney charges some sort of fee to cover the setup. I'm not sure what it is.

Everybody got a price for the million dollar man lmfao

Ha! You beat me to that.

But, speaking of price... what is Ted DiBiase's price for something like this?

Good question. There are different fees, which could get a little complicated. I am awaiting to hear back from his booking team for a quote. I do know that it's going to be at least the price of his airfare and hotel. I have budgeted about $500 (air/hotel stay in Disney), and also including him in the reception so he could have a meal ($125). I don't forsee a huge booking fee on top of his requirements (stay/meal/transportation), but as soon as I hear back, I'll let everyone know...

VERY excited!

**EDIT** And yes, you all can call me crazy about this, however considering this is a wishes wedding... I'm taking full advantage of my wishes.. haha.

No way, that's not crazy at all, my DF works on Community and I'm trying to get him to ask Joel McHale to marry us, hahahahahaha. I love the idea of a celebrity officiant.

...That's amazing. Tell him he HAS to ask Joel to do it. Has to.
