First time trying Celebrity and first cruise in Med. Last 3 cruises were on Disney in concierge but trying Celebrity this time. Would appreciate input from anyone who has done Celebrity? How does it compare to Disney? Is the concierge and suite class comparable? We are going on Edge which I understand is a new ship.

Hi, we have done 2 celebrity cruises ( South american -Patagônia 14 nights and western med -11 nights ) and liked them a lot . The ships were beuatiful and very well maintened , just like Disney . The food at the MDR and the buffet even beter than Disney . We stayed at a varanda cabin and , travelled wih our teens both times, they prefered celebrity in some aspects. We have done 4 Disney cruises ( the last onde a month ago western caribean) , but are loocking forward for celebrity Russia and scandinavia next year

I can't give you Celebrity advice, as we did the Med with MSC last summer. But I can say that you can easily have long days, and what is on the ship is less important that some other cruises. Enjoy your cruise, and take all the money you saved by not sailing DCL and do some amazing excursions. Or tack on an extra week, like we did in France. ;)

We found Celebrity to be great for Europe. We agreed that if there had been a lot of sea days we would have been bored because a lot of the daytime "entertainment" is spa upsales and shopping stuff and because we weren't that enthused with their buffet. But we got a great deal on their best drinks package so everything on the ship under $15 was included. The main dining food was superior to DCL and it was so nice to unwind after a busy day in port with some wine with dinner and then a few drinks while listening to music before going to bed. Very laid back, good mix of nightly entertainment and the Silent Disco is loads of fun! For our 14 night on Celebrity we had two sea days where we were basically just napping and recuperating so things were fine and that worked well. Our WBPC had 9 sea days and without Disney we would have been bored to tears. So in summary, definitely recommend for Europe.
