My family and I booked this dinner for our upcoming trip. My son adored Buzz and Woody when he was a little boy and my daughter loves Jesse so when I told them about this new eating experience at Disneyland and this being our
1st family trip to Disneyland, they wanted me to book it. One of the posts on the boards right now has ALOT of mixed reviews. People talking about the cost, service, food, etc. I personally after being on our 1st family WDW trip, feel that the pricing for the character meals are worth it and not always for the food but for the whole experience, although the food was great at all our experiences at WDW. This seems like a unique experience because it is outdoors and a bbq atmosphere so we are looking forward to it, especially my kids :) I would love to hear some GOOD reviews about those that have went and if you can share any photos from your experience, that would be great too! I know this is a new thing at Disneyland, so I'm thinking that maybe at the time the people went, they were still working through the kinks, etc of it just opening. My family loves ribs & bbq chicken and corn and dessert. I will be the only one doing the coleslaw. I think my kids will like the beans & cornbread as will I and then the dessert, well..........I haven't met a dessert I don't like, LOL:rotfl: Hubby is a meat guy so the chicken and ribs will be perfect for him and the corn so he will be fine. Let me know what you think? THANKS!

We loved the food, and the experience.... it was one of our better meals in the park (dh actually got full!!) Ribs were a little spicy for dd, but dh and I loved them, and the sauce that went with. Chicken was really good, corn wheels were perfectly done, and I loved the cornbread. DD wasn't thrilled with the amount of frosting on the cupcake, so I took it off, she had chocolate, dh and I had red velvet... yummy!!

Woody and Jessie were great, Chip & Dale were there too... so was Bullseye, but he didn't come out to meet anyone, was just on stage... Never added pics before... so I'll try!!

I can tell you that we had a GREAT time at the BBQ! It was so much fun, the food was amazingly good and we left stuffed. The show was fun, the characters were great and yes, the food....LOL Seriously, I ate most of the coleslaw myself and I'm not a big slaw fan but it was soooooooooooooooooo good!!!!!! I would definitely recommend it! And if you need more of something, if they don't just bring it out then ask and you will get it. Go, enjoy it!!!!!! :)

Thanks to those who have replied so far with the good reviews and pictures. I appreciate it. I look forward to reading more reviews and seeing some more pictures. I'm glad I booked it and can't wait for our trip:cool1::cool1:Thanks for the good reviews:thumbsup2

Mommy2PrincessAbby,

Thank you for sharing these pics. My kids went nuts seeing them...I think we will be doing this on our next trip for sure

I posted this elsewhere too, but I will repeat my review of the place.

We went in early May and LOVED it!!!!!!! My kids are not fans of barbecue food, but I gave them some plain chicken (I pulled off the skin and sauce), and they had some cornbread. They both loved the cupcakes and had no problem finishing them up. Actually, with the spoon this was the neatest they have ever been while eating cupcakes!

The show was really fun. My DD got to go up on the stage, Miss Chris came to our table and talked to her, Woody and Jessie both came to our table twice, it was so much fun! The place was 2/3 to 3/4 full the entire 1.5 hours we were there. Our server was a little slow, but we weren't bored by any means. The piano player and guitarist are awesome, too. The guitar player walked around and talked to people as he played.

I think we would go back, if my kids wanted to. I do think there should be a kid's option, like hot dogs or macaroni and cheese. Maybe some fruit or something. But really, I can't complain too much! The fact that my kids stayed at a meal for 1.5 hours and never once complained, that's pretty amazing!

Yes, there is a grilled tofu and vegetable skewer - I had that, and thought it was very good. They used the same rub on the tofu/veggies that they do on the chicken, and it is just a little bit spicy - not hot, though. The rest of the meal (beans, coleslaw, corn, corn bread) is also vegetarian. Make sure you inform your server when they take the drink orders that you want the vegetarian option. And you may have to wait a little longer to get your skewers - mine came out after everything else did. But in the meantime there were plenty of other things to eat.

I thought the food was very good, but $30 for BBQ was pretty expensive. There was lots of character interaction, but since we don't have kids that's not much of a consideration to us. If the meal was priced more in line with other Disneyland casual dining places then we'd probably eat there often, but as it is I doubt we'll go back.

I was one of the people who had an awful experience there and will not return, but I will say that the beans and coleslaw and cornbread was very good. The skin was undercooked on the chicken, and the ribs were over seasoned and tasted like chili powder, which was very strange to me.

I want to add that while there was a continuous show running while we were there, aside from the photo we took with Woody before we entered the restaurant, there was no character interaction at all. For us, the price is too high for what you get, and it wasn't a character meal like we're used to.

We had really hoped to try this on Mother's Day last weekend.

I have a child that is beyond picky when it comes to meals. As it is, there are very few things he will eat in the park.

We were told that you had to pay for everyone, regardless of whether or not they would eat. I could not see paying $30 for an 11 y/o that wasn't going to eat anything, so we passed.

We were there last Saturday, May 9th. The food was great! Our server mentioned when he brought the food, that there was plenty more so just to let him know if we wanted more of anything. He also refilled our drinks several times.

I wouldn't call this a "character meal" like Goofy's or Ariels Grotto. The characters didn't really make the rounds at all. At one point, there was a table full of about 10 boys and Jessie kept going over to their table and being very playful however, she didn't do that with any other tables. Woody came out to do the photos at the entrance and he just walked through to the entrance - he didn't greet each table.

We were there at about 5:30 on Saturday and the place was d-e-a-d! It had a VERY low-key vibe which was nice for us considering we had gotten up at 4am to catch our flight that morning and then had spent the rest of the day at the park.

I thought the show was only okay. It was Miss Chris and a piano player then at one point they both took a break and a cowboy with a guitar roamed around the tables and sang. They didn't have any kids get up on the stage like an above poster mentioned.

We paid $57.98 for 2 adults and $25.98 for 2 kids plus 15% tip & tax for a total of $105.00.

Just to confirm, the food was good and fresh tasting. The cupcakes weren't the best I have ever had but they were good enough! After a day of eating popcorn, churros etc it was really nice to sit down to coleslaw, corn on the cob & ribs!

It was pricey, especially since our 12 y.o. is charged as an adult. I wish they would rethink kids ages in regards to that as my 12 y.o. normally doesn't eat like an adult....altho she did at the BBQ so we didn't have any problems paying the fee. :) We paid over $100 for people, 3 adults and 1 child.
