Celebration Roundup and BBQ...7 Picky People Review!!

We walked up on Sat. and there was plenty of seating, we thought about doing it but decided not to because we weren't hungry for all you can eat right then. We have eaten there in the past and we LOVED it too. Great food, great service, great characters, it was a lot of fun. We were even given boxes to take leftovers home in, which was great for us because we were driving home later that day, we had our dinner in the car on the way and it was just as good the second time around. :) The BBQ is honestly one of our faves!!

I'm so glad that you didn't cancel & had a great time! One reason I go to Celebration Ranch is definately bc of their desserts & also for the beans!
I was disappointed however that when I went this past Saturday, the service I had was terrible. Someone came over and took down our drinks and didn't come back for a long time. And then apparently she wasn't even our waitress but we didn't know that since someone else brought us our food and he wasn't our waiter either. Our real waiter didn't come until we were already finished w/ our food & were ready for 2nds. We had to tell him twice about wanting food & we waited a looooooooong time before it arrived. That was my 3rd time going to Celebration Ranch and every time I went before, the wait staff have been super friendly & the food came quickly. This was the 1st time everything went super slow & the place wasn't even full. If tax wasn't included, I would have definately given a smaller tip. Now whenever I go, I have to make sure Daniel is working!

I just do not want to sit out side on a hot day in August either to eat a hot meal. and we also go for the excitement of eating what we can not eat all year here in our home town, but In august I would rather be in a cool building eating :)

I was told when I was on the phone the added gratuity was added in the price of the meals. I told her I had a voucher and she said ok, it will have been added to that already. any one know if this is true?

Travel vouchers include tax and tip usually.

Thanks for all the replies...I am glad you have found the review useful!

Just as an aside...it was a pretty hot day on Saturday and the area was rellly nicely shaded. No one in my group had any issue with it being outdoors/without air conditioning!

I love the Blue Bayou also (as a romantic/fancy restaurant) but I think this is a bit more of a fun atmosphere to be honest...especially with a famiyl group!

I have to agree with you with the fact that our family of 4 didn't have a problem with this being outdoors and not in the A/C. It was a covered picnic like table and it was shaded and totally comfortable. Now, if it wouldn't have been shaded/covered, I am not sure I would have been a happy camper but I'm sure they took all that in consideration when coming up with the Celebration Roundup & BBQ and that is why it is covered. I'm a very HOT natured person and I was 100% comfy and it was a hot sunny day:cool2:

To the original poster, THANKS for giving the great review report. I couldn't agree more with the satisfaction that our family had there as well. I do hope it continues for others to enjoy!

I can't imagine it being any hotter at the BBQ than it was Sunday while we sat at CO and ate outside. It was actually quite nice.

Thanks for the reviews everyone!

I'm probably going back to DL in the fall...I want to try this place out, my husband loves BBQ and he's never done a character type meal before (and he's a picky eater, he passed over doing a character meal at the Storyteller Cafe when he saw the menu).

That, and we have little to no luck at the Blue Bayou. Everytime we go to DL, its almost always booked up and there are never any walk ins. I've only managed to get my husband there ONCE because we have no luck with reservations--one trip we had to arrange our whole schedule around the single Blue Bayou ADR (in the middle of the week. At a wierd time). And we go in the off season (0ctober/September).

I hope this place stays open in October! Outdoor weather should be wonderful for a BBQ then (less heat)!

Just wanted to mention we ate there Monday 7/13. At about 1 pm we walked up and were seated with no wait at all (and no ADR). There were only about 6 other tables filled.
We absolutely LOVED this meal. The food was awesome, the service was awesome, the show was a lot of fun. I don't understand why it wasn't busier in there when the parks were crowded. My DD, a very picky eater, ate more at that meal than any other meal we've ever had at the parks. It was a little pricy, but we've spent more at Goofy's Kitchen for breakfast and didn't have nearly as much fun or ate nearly as well.
I loved loved loved the ribs and cornbread. Hubby loved everything.
So don't hesitate to try it out.
