celebration round up question

I was looking on you tube and they had the celebration round up and there was a show during it with Jessie and Bulls eye. Are they still performing during the meal. My daughter is obsessed with Jessie and that would make this a must do for sure.

The characters are no longer making an appearance at the BBQ, in fact, they have changed the name to Big Thunder BBQ. There's still a small show (which is decently entertaining) but no characters.

We sometimes see Jessie in Frontierland. You can always check at City Hall to see when and where she will be appearing.

Oh, but it really is so good! The servers there are terrific and the entertainment is fun

We had 4:30 reservations & the show didn't start until 5pm.

We also got sat in the sun which was awful. We asked the host to move us to a center table that was in the shade (we had a party of 10 including 2 senior citizens & 4 kids ages 2-11) and the host said no, they had a party of 68 coming in a bit. Well low & behold 10 minutes later they sat the table we asked for with a party of 3. My father (one of the senior citizens) complained to the manager at the end & he said there was NO reason the host should have done that (& gave us 20% off the bill). By the time we left (after only 45 minutes, so we didn't get to enjoy much of the show), the area was only about 70% full & no party of 68 had arrived.

So was it worth it? Yes I would do it again, but if there was no seating in the shade I would tell them nevermind & go somewhere else. Or if there is shade seating & they refuse, then I would get a manager involved. My 2 cents.

I have seen Jessie on my last two trips in front of TSMM. I am sure she will be out and about since they have really been pushing the new movie. I love Jessie too!

Agreed! And we also see them doing meet and greets in the area in front of the restaurant pretty frequently. You can probably inquire with a CM to find out when and where you can see them so that your daughter will have a chance to meet Jessie.

We have done several meals at the BBQ and while the food has always been very good, the price isn't excellent (although it is definitely a lot cheaper than when the characters were part of the deal, and there was very minimal interaction at that), and the service has been spotty for sure. Carol is one of the servers that goes above and beyond and is always excellent, we actually ask to be seated in her section if she is working when we eat there.

I know there are school trips, family gatherings, tourist groups, etc but I can't imagine 68 people walking into Big Thunder BBQ for their reservation!
Sorry the CM wasn't too nice to your family about the situation though. I think I read another post where late afternoon/early evening sun is a problem so others may want to keep that in mind when checking in for their reservation at that time...

We went on Monday, and when we checked in they gave us the option to be seated immediately, which would be a table in the sun or to wait for a few minutes to wait for a table in the shade. We decided to wait, since it was warm and wound up with the table in the front closest to the stage.

While the food was decent, I don't think we will be going back anytime soon. I wasn't crazy about it, my husband thought it was okay and my kids just picked at the food. It was too expensive for FOR US, since we didn't eat that much. But the area was cute.

Last week, we saw Woody and Jessie twice in different locations between Frontierland and Fantasyland (I would assume they move around to stay in shady spots), and also once in front of TSMM in DCA.

When we eat here the girls don't eat with us. Only DBF and I eat at the BBQ, the girls don't like it that much and they don't eat enough (especially DD13) to warrant the price. So they eat something else and we go to the BBQ. DBF and I think it's delish, we love it all, the last time we ate there we have 3 refills of everything and wanted room for more. It's very good, and the entertainment that they do have is very fun and interactive. I highly recommend it.

I like it too. It is nice to grab a seat after a couple hours in the park.
