Celebration, FL restaurants?

We are thinking of taking a drive to see Celebration, Fl.

What is there to do there?

What restaurants are there? We like all kinds of food and it doesn't have to be fancy.

Anyone have some advice?

There was a time that I'd have suggested that just driving - or walking - around the planned village of Celebration was a trip worth taking but then the economic downturn hit and I think that most of Celebration became just another village in Florida. That notwithstanding, it's a nice place to visit for a few hours.

Depending on the time of year that you're visiting there are different village events going on from time to time. During the Fall/Winter holiday season there's the tree lighting ceremony, a nightly snow fall on Market Street and ice skating (also on Market Street). There are several restaurants and shops along Front Street and Market Street. For restaurants, we like to include a stop at the Celebration Town Tavern every time that we're in the Orlando area. And, at the fine dining end of the restaurant spectrum, there's the Columbia Restaurant. And there are, as I noted, several others.

Shopping in Celebration wouldn't be complete for us without a stop at Once Upon a Time and the Market Street Gallery. And, though we live in Illinois we are transplanted New Englanders so stopping by the Soft As A Grape clothing store is a bit of a tradition even if just to touch base with our New England roots.

We have eaten at the Town Tavern, Café D'Antonio and Market Street Café (although i don't think it's as good as it used to be). Had ice-cream at Kilwins, coffee from Starbucks and grabbed a slice of pizza from the takeaway pizza place.

We always enjoy a trip to Celebration and usually walk around the lakes or go and see the decorations at Halloween or Christmas

Just drive in & see the display of homes,then park and walk around

lake . Have a look at the regular Alligator there ... watch the children enjoying themselves at the water jets. Then " window shop " or buy at the stores

Have an ice cream or a meal and enjoy the ambiance of Celebration

Max time to spend about 4 hours .

When are you visiting? There are events in town often you can see a list on the town website. The restaurants are great! Out favorites are Columbia, D'antonios, and the Tavern. I highly recommend a visit....but I'm a little biased, I've lived here 13 years

Another vote for the Columbia Restaurant. Ate there last spring...outstanding! That says a lot coming from a pretty picky eater here!

Family and I did Columbia and also enjoyed it. I have allergies and all three of us can be picky eaters and found plenty to eat.

I've had Cuban fast food before and wasn't impressed but this was really good, heavy on the garlic, but really good.

The list is from 2010, but I think most of them are still there.

We are big fans of Columbia. It's the one must-do whenever we are in the Orlando area (or Sarasota, or Tampa, or St. Augustine). We go to a figure skating competition every year in Maitland (NE of Orlando) and we make the long drive across Orlando during rush hour to go to Columbia. If you go, get their legendary "1905 Salad."

And Kilwin's is right around the corner!
