Hi there!

On my trip I will be snagging a 'happy birthday' button. I was just wondering if most people wear it their whole trip, or just on their actual birthday (or one day they choose)?

Also, two out of three of our party will be wearing celebration buttons (birthday button for me, first trip button for my niece). Do you have any suggestions for what our third party member might be able to put down for their pin if they want one? I doubt she will, but I don't want her to feel left out because she's the only one not wearing one.

You can wear it as long as you want. I have worn a button a day or two, but that was it for me. There is no wrong way to enjoy your celebations button.

For the third member of your group, she can celebrate anything. How about celebrating a family trip? The buttons are really for fun, so whatever woks for you is fine.

Wear whatever and however many buttons you want for as long as you want. There are no rules.

I'm local so my ~customs may be a little different.
I wear buttons as I'm celebrating. Birthday is usually day of + whatever day I'm celebrating it with friends (usually a day over the weekend that we all get dinner)
Celebration buttons I will pull out randomly. If it's a friends birthday, I will wear it on the day we are celebrating. When I got a new job, I wore that button for a week. When Frozen Ever After opened, I wore one then.
When my family is in town, I pull out the family reunion buttons for their entire trip.

Being at Disney is also a valid celebration point for anyone who doesn't have a specific button to wear :)

Well, it's a button. There's really no right or wrong. I personally only wear it on the actual day (I'm more of a blend-into-the crowd type), but you do you. Celebrate whatever you want for as many days as you'd like, and anyone who has the time and energy to worry about that needs to find a better hobby.

Personally I feel like the buttons should only be worn the day of. And I'm not in the camp of celebrating a birthday 6 months out just so we get to wear a button that day...BUT, I know lots of people do it and are totally fine with it and it's not my issue to dispute that at all.

Not a slight at the OP, but my mindset is that I'm an adult and really don't get why anyone would care that it's my birthday and why I would want them to know or care. Different for kids or people over 100.

Everyone in our party was given celebration buttons when we were there back in Dec. We were there the same time as my brother's 40th, so he got a bday pin and we all got celebrating pins. I didn't ask for them specifically. A CM asked how many were in our party and if we'd like them. Your 3rd party member can get one of those to celebrate w you.

Thanks for the advice, everyone! I'll probably end up just wearing it the day of, it's more special to me that way.

I'm weird about buttons. I think it's fine to wear a birthday button your entire trip, so long as you are taking the trip relatively close to your birthday. For me, that's travelling during the same month or the week after. Celebration buttons are fine so long as you are actually celebrating an event in your life, and again, your travelling relatively close to that event.

But that's just me and I'd never actually say anything to someone.

There is no etiquette. Do what makes you happy. It hurts no one in any way if u wear every day or heck even if it isn't your birthday time. I finally went for my birthday and wore it a few days around my birthday. This year my daughter turning 13 will wear the whole trip. As an adult my birthday passes with barely an aknowledgemnt and it was fun getting happy birthday wishes for really the first time in a long time.

I have a button that a CM gave me that had "Celebrating" already on ot and he wrote "today". So..."Celebrating Today".

I wore it the whole trip on my bag and it is now in my office. I actually love it lol.

I wear my birthday button the day of, or closest to it. It just makes it so more special to me. Unless it's first trip buttons, I wore that the whole time I was there.

We will be celebrating our 20th anniversary next year, one month before our actual date. I will probably wear my button most days (unless I forget to put it on or if it gets caught on stuff, I will get frustrated lol). Since the whole trip is our anniversary gift to ourselves, I think it's okay. DH most likely will NOT, so I may make him wear it for our anniversary dinner at least :)

DH and I will be wearing our Anniversary pins (40th) all week. DGS will likely wear his first visit pin all week, but his birthday pin only on the actual birthday. But everybody is free to wear them as they see fit.
