Hi! This is my first pretrip report. I will be going on a Solo trip for my forty-ninth (shudder) birthday. The last year of my forties is going to include lots of Disney magic.
This actually all started when DH and I suprised stepDD11 and stepDS 13 with a trip to the World as their Christmas gift last year. We booked the previous Feb. and I was able to keep it a secret until the night before we left. Now my stepDD, step DS, and DH like Disney but they do not LOVE it like I do. We had a wonderful trip but DH said he was perfectly content not to go back for a few years. He must have seen the shocked look of horror on my face because he said, why don't you go by yourself? I am not sure if he actually intended for me to take him up on it, but I booked my very first ever solo trip for my 49th birthday in August. Then I decided that since my oldest DD had missed out on the Christmas trip that maybe she would like to go on a short Christmas trip with me Dec 07. She was thrilled but wanted to bring her new hubby (they had their Disneymoon a year ago at Coronado Springs) So now for the first time in my life I have two Disney trips in the planning stages at the same time. What a way to take the sting out of turning 49! Now I am very budget minded and I began to wonder about the financial effects of taking two trips in one year. I crunched the numbers and guess what an annual passport was a better deal for me. Oh Joy! A finacially sound reason to go as often as I can within that year. I am all smiles now.
DH and I have our 10th anniversary coming up next June. Now ten years of a happy marriage with a blended family is something to celebrate! So we booked a Disney Cruise on the Wonder for next June. Wait I have an annual passport. It will still be good. I could go to the world solo for a few days and the DH and the kids could join me for a couple of days at the world before the Cruise.

Now I can hardly believe this is happening but here are the plans for the next year.

I have NEVER done anything like this! Usually its 1 trip every few years. I'm leaving the 40's with a blast. My own year of Disney Dreams come true on my way to my 50th birthday.

A little background on me. I am a kindergarten teacher of 27 years. I have loved all things Disney as long as I can remember. I took many trips to WDW as a child begining in Nov. 1971. As a child my family always camped at Fort Wilderness and usually went for Thanksgiving long weekend. I'm originally from SC so it was an easy drive down to WDW. Now I live in TX and was shocked at how long it took to get there when we drove in 2002.

Very cool you are doing a solo trip.

I have to tell you my DD had the BEST kindergarten teacher this year. We are going to miss her next year when she goes to 1st grade. I was one of the room moms (and going for my masters in special ed) I learned so much being in the classroom.

I give you a ton of credit teaching kindergarten it is not easy.

Cannot wait to read more.

We will be in Disney from July 29-Aug 3.
