Celebrating Thanksgiving & Christmas - Disney style (11-19 to 11-29-08)

We also went to the Monsters Inc. Laugh Factory. We all thought it was so neat! For anyone that has been there, without telling too much about it, they may select different people to laugh at on the big screen before the show begins. Well, our matching shirts got us on the big screen. They showed our picture, and the caption read something like we were buying churros for everyone with the money we saved by buying our shirts in bulk. It was hilarious.

The night was coming to a close, and we were heading down Main Street, stopping at a couple shops along the way. We stopped in one of the stores to buy our infamous castle throw, and a fellow Diser spotted us shopping. She said she knew we were Disers because she has never seen anyone else with those kinds of shirts, unless they were Disers. I believer her name was maybe Laurabears? I tried to find her on the boards, but haven’t found her, she was really nice though!

Last but not least, we stopped off at the Main Street Bakery. Chad bought a cinnamon roll to bring back to the room. Everyone joked that it was a cinnamon “loaf’ because it was so big. Chad ate half of it when we got back to the room, and was up half the night sick to his stomach. Note to self, when you seldom eat rolls, donuts, etc., stay away from eating a half of a loaf of glazed top cinnamon goodness - your stomach won’t know what hit it!

Next up… Day three, our first REAL day in Epcot.

Welcome to Day 2! Friday 11-21-08

We had a nice relaxing morning, and we were able to sleep in a little. Since we were in the Hoops building, Grandma bought the girls a Disney basketball so that we, I mean, they could see if they could make a basket in the oversized hoops. It was a neat idea, and we all had fun playing around outside. Chad, Tami & Katie were able to make a basket, Emma almost did, and Rachel gave it a good shot.

I dig these pictures!!!!! So fun....

Hi!:wave2:

Beaches and Cream looked Awsome! We're going to have to add that to our trip next year---well, I guess that's now, later this year!

I saw that you all were wearing long sleeves at night time. Was it cold at night and warm during the day? Do you remember what the temps were then? We are thinking about going around that time next year. How were the crowds?

You should definitely go to Beaches & Cream, you will love it!

I just so happen to have the weather printed out for when we were there. The highs were anywhere from 66-78 during the day, and lows were 43-54 at night. We were very comfy during the day, and wearing long sleeves or sweatshirts at night was perfect. It was Thanksgiving week, we thought it was pretty busy, but not 'too' bad.

I'm loving the Trip Report! :thumbsup2 This brings back memories of our first WDW trip as a family when we stayed in the Hoops section.

Isn't is strange how some people have to try to take something good that happens to someone else and make it about themselves? I have never seen anybody get anything special or have anything cool happen to them at Disney World, big or small, and think that should have been us or say anything to make it ugly. I can't fathom why people, especially adult people, would care one way or the other about why you got to come down and sit in front. If they were close enough for you to hear them, then they had to be close enough to the stage that it shouldn't have made a bit of difference in the world. Some people need to bring an extra helping of their coping skills medicine with them when they're out. What if it had been his family that got moved up closer? Would that have been 'right'? I don't know.

Just random thoughts going through my mind as to why anyone would be at such a great place to have a good time and then let something so trivial as that get to them...it just seems ridiculous to me. Especially to have kids hearing that!

The weight loss looks great, guys!

We've stayed at Sports twice. We were in a Surf's Up building the first time and then back in the Tennis section the second time. Looks like a beautiful, sunny day when you were out shooting hoops! Since we have a single digit temperature right now, it kind of makes me want to jump into the pictures and get warmed up!

Beaches and cream looks so good!
I'm very tempted to try and squeeze that in.
