I'm so jealous that you're so close to so much fun. That's a lot of "so" isn't it?

My secret pleasure in this trip is that I work the 4 days leading up to our departure day (including *on* our departure day). My teens will be in charge of cleaning up the house before we leave... and they do an awesome job of it. Far better than I alone would do. So I totally get the cleaning, but I'm so glad my kids are grown and that I figured out how to make myself busy so I get out of it!

It is really nice to have that all close by! I love your cleaning plan! Feel free to send them on to my house, too!

Day 8 Dining:


After a relaxing nap, we’ll head to Downtown Disney for a first for us. We are going to Fulton’s for dinner!



We’ve never been there before. The menu looks so good, and we are really, really excited to try it! Plus, you know how I love pics, and this looks like a great pic opportunity place!!

Please post pics/reviews of this as soon as you get back! Pretty please We have a ressie in November. I've read so many bad things recently that I'm really hoping you come back with a rave review!

I just read a good bit of your thread. We have very similar plans right now! I'm over in Boone, NC and we are leaving on Friday to hit up Universal, then Disney on the 5th. We're going to OKW for 4 nights and the Kidani for 3.

My DD is 9 now and she is already out of school this year! Since we didn't have hardly any snow this year, they finished on May 25th.

I am also in that pre-Disney cleaning mode and I have so many different spreadsheets related to this trip it's just too funny.

We are doing the DDP for our OKW stay and then OOP for the Kidani stay.

I think it's so odd to make ADR's for what I will eat 4 months in advance! Yet, I did that, too. Anyway, I know where Maryville is and we go to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg a lot. We are Black & Gold fans as we both work at/graduated from ASU. So if you see 3 Mountaineers at Disney, come over and say hello!

Caught your Memorial Day Round-up on Memorial Day Relaxing here at Poly, after some time at AK and before our Ohanas ressie at 8 pm. Don't have pics yet since this is my parents' laptop.

That's how our school was--no snow days! Makes for a long year! I will keep an eye out for you--we LOVE ASU! I worked a cheerleading camp there one summer and fell in love with the campus!

Happy Memorial Day, everyone!

Today, we got up, did a few house chores, and started packing. All of those lists, spreadsheets, etc, finally came into use!

Here’s the pile after my clothes & D’s clothes were put in. Please ignore the fact that I decided to change the sheets WHILE we were packing!

This is what D did while we were packing:

Everything is packed except the toiletries! I still have to put some stuff in the carryon bag, but we’re almost there! Now, just come on Wednesday for the last day of work and Thursday to leave!!

It was a beautiful Memorial Day!

I have a huge pile of clothes & shoes on my sofa going through the final selection/rejection of packing. I would be too embarrassed to show that to anyone because for 2 girls we have waaaay too many clothes!

Enjoy the excitement of the next few days. We're off to clean the car today!

Finished my last FULL day of work today! Tomorrow we just work 1/2 a day, then it's time to come home and do all of the last minute prep! Almost here!!

1 MORE DAY!!!!

I finished my last day of work before summer vacation today about 11 am! When I got to Mom's to get D, she and Dad were singing celebration songs for me! This was me. . .

We put the last square on the countdown calendar this morning. Here are D & me, showing how many days it is:

After doing some packing this afternoon (does anyone else hate when you can't get EVERYTHING packed when you're in the zone, because you will need some of it tomorrow?), Brian got home. Then the doorbell rang with a "special delivery" for D!

That good ol' Mickey delivered some gifties for the trip! What a great Mouse!

D made short work of the bag! He got a ball, some bubble bath & bath trains for the big tub, and two new Caillou DVDs to watch on the plane!

As you can tell, he is SO excited!!

Now, it's off to find something for dinner, do all of the last minute stuff, and find a way to make it all fit before tomorrow!!
