Celebrating my Un-Birthday Disney Style-April 2010-New 5/3 - The TR has started!

Great news on the SW credit. This happened to us 2 trips ago. In the end we had a $360 credit. But it had to be used within a year of the original purchase. Which wasn't possible. They did extend it for 6 months after the expiration, but they charged me $100 to do so. So we ended up with a $260 credit. Which was still very nice!

It's good to know we can extend the credit - though it would have to get bigger than $80 first.

It's always such a nice feeling to save money! :goodvibes

:thumbsup2

Oh! I just saw it at the Christmas Parade!!! I didn't know it had such a past!!!

:rotfl:

excellent news I think I should register w/ them...:thumbsup2

You should definitely register to get their emails. You should also sign up for DING!

:banana::banana:

The box came out very cute, Amy! So cool you could find something the whole family could do together! All your "boys" ;) looked like they were having a good time in the snow! Ours is almost all melted here, it's lasted a lot longer than I thought I would!

I'm sure we won't see the grass again here until March or April.

You get a two-for-one update today… I only have one picture from MK in 2002 :headache: (that I can find) so you get 2006 as well.

Magic Kingdom – Looking Back – Post #3 – Going back to 2002. Our first trip with Alex – he was 16 months old & still pretty content to ride in the stroller. My mother joined us for this trip. We stayed off-site with our timeshare condo. We also visited Sea World during this trip.
Alex’s first ride on the carousel:

This is definitely my favorite memory from the 2002 trip! My least favorite memory was ending up in the ER in the middle of the night with a UTI! I remember touring Sea World the next day with my big bottle of cranberry juice! Ladies – Stay hydrated on vacation! ::yes::

Magic Kingdom – Looking Back – Post #4 – Going back to 2006. This was a short 3 day trip with Jeff, his wife at the time, J & K. We spent a week in Florida, most of the time was at Jeff’s house. Alex was 5 ½ and Zach was 2 ½. This was Zach’s first trip.

I love the pictures from the monorail! My favorite memory is all of Fantasyland! Least favorite memory - the condo we stayed at during this trip. I didn't do enough research since we had always stayed at decent places, but this place was totally in the hood! We were a little scared for our safety. :scared1:

... the flight down to Tampa was about $10 lower than our current tickets (per person) so I re-booked that portion and got another credit for $43! Plus I have our original credit for $40 from right after I booked in October.

Great news! :thumbsup2

great news on the Southwest credit...just more money that will go straight to the bank and stay there.;)

love the retro pix from last decade....(can you believe we can say that now:eek:).

I had to chuckle about your comment about the condo being in the 'hood, although I'm sure it wasn't funny at the time, especially with small children.

Hi Amy! Just got through your PTR so far!! Your boys have the best smiles!! Love the older pictures of you all!! A little over a week and we can do the double digits dance!!!:banana: Thanks for sharing all your plans, it's fun to see what others have planned for the same time we are going!! Looking forward to more!!!

Aww the boys are just adorable! I love retro pics! ER on vacation though, definitely not a good memory!

Love the snowy pics, the E's are dying for a snow day.

The box looks great!

I did our sign up today, didn't see anything like your project but ours should be fun and expose the kids to something a little out of their normal area. Not quite the give back I'd have liked but it is a fun volunteer opportunity!

Love the new ticker!

Awww, your boys as toddlers were just precious!!! :goodvibes

Thanks - it makes me a bit sad when I look at the pictures. My little boys aren't babies anymore. :sad2: At least Zach will still hug me in public!

Great news! :thumbsup2

Right, the bank... :rolleyes1

I know, the "hood" may be a bit harsh, but there were homeless people hanging around the area and apparently a girl who worked at a hotel in the area had gone missing sometime in the few months before we were there and there were signs hanging up everywhere. I feel bad for everyone involved in that situation, but it definitely wasn't a magical experience. I remember feeling nervous for Tim to go out to the car by himself after dark. :headache:

awww...

great pic's Amy...

it's so fun to see your boys as little guys :cutie:

Thanks! I think they were (and still are) pretty cute! :lovestruc

:welcome: Thanks for coming over to read! We'll be there before we know it! I always like to see where people plan to be the same week as me so I can try to keep my eyes open in case we cross paths. We'll have to compare itineraries once ours is finalized... still waiting on Jeff!

The ER wasn't fun! I was glad my mom was with us so she could stay with Alex & Tim could come with me to the ER.

Can't wait to hear about your Give A Day project!

The Southwest credit is great.

The photos are great. Kids always love the monorail. My nephew could stay on that all day.

I think the kids thought the monorail was the first ride at WDW because we usually went to MK first & had to park at the TTC. ;)

Yes - You are right behind me!!:banana: How did you make out with airfare? Are you taking Southwest out of Manchester? I hear a lot of people are having trouble finding reasonable deals. I feel like we made out pretty well with Southwest. The only not so good part is that we are flying in and out of Tampa. Jeff & family live closer to Tampa than Orlando so it works out great for our trip down. I wasn't sure of our itinerary when I booked and Tampa was cheaper than Orlando... Not the end of the world though considering we have a car.

Magic Kingdom – Looking Back – Post #5 – Going back to 2007.

This was Alex’s 3rd trip and Zach’s 2nd. We stayed off-site again using our timeshare condo (Marriott Grande Vista - much much nicer than the hood! We spent 5 days in the parks, including MNSSHP. We also visited with Jeff, his ex-wife, J & K.

I remember when you were getting ready for that trip!

I remember when you were getting ready for that trip!

Seems like so long ago, but the pictures make it seem like yesterday! I can't believe I'm planning my 4th trip since discovering the DIS! This place is such a bad influence! It's killing my bank account!

Very cool pics, Amy..it was neat looking at your last two updates and comparing :) I LOVE the Leo costume..both the boys looked so cute! I really like the one of all three of you on Dumbo also, that was a great picture!

Quick question with all these picture updates...how much do the kids remember about their trips? How far back do they remember?
