I've been following along silently! Your planning looks great. Congrats on being at 6 weeks, that is so awesome!! We will not be doing the DDP on our next trip, so I have priced out meals just like you have. I am figuring we can eat for about $200+ less than the price of the DDP, now that DS is 10. But we will see. . . it will be interesting!

Hi Shelly! I'm so glad you've been following along!! Glad you decided to say "hi" too! This would have been a great year for the DDP with Alex still being 9, but oh well... I so wish we could purchse the plan staying off-site. It was so convenient! But it did spoil us and now we love TS dining at Disney.

I'm feeling good about the whole budget thing this year! We have cash set aside to pay for everything. We'll use a credit card just because it's safer (don't want to risk losing our bank debit card again this year...) then we'll be able to pay it off when we get back! That's a first for us!

Zach used the stroller SO MUCH last year that we think he'll want it again this year. For him it was more of a sensory escape - he can easily get overwhelmed by the sights, sounds and heat of Disney!

Oh, it's definitely worth it for Zach to have that quiet little coccoon to curl up into!

Billy is the same as Alex... he was out of his stroller super-early!

Six weeks from today we'll be on our plane heading to Florida!! Anybody wannna dance?

First I want to share a picture of something I just couldn't wait to get my hands on, so I ordered it & it arrived on Tuesday!!

I love it!! I immediately loaded it on my iphone & have been listening to it every time I'm in the car & even sometimes at home! It's getting me so excited for our trip! Did I mention it starts six weeks from today?

With only six weeks to go, it's time to start my six week to-do lists. Julie (mousescrapper) gave me this idea when she broke down her to-do list into smaller, weekly lists. It's a fun way for me to count down the weeks and a more manageable way to get everything done.

6 weeks to go: (The things in red are already done)
• Order Alex’s Guide to the Magic - DONE
• Update name tags
• Update Helping Me cards
• Find old/make new DIS tag
• Order TGM buttons?
• Order PhotoPass CD & start $ collection
• Start packing lists - DONE
• Start grocery list – limit items to necessities!
• List of carry-on bags/items – including kids - DONE
• Work on touring plans – in process
• Buy large Ziploc bags
• Purchase more sunscreen
• Decide on park bag(s)

It seems too early to be worrying about some of this stuff, but when I looked at the big list I tried to move the things that weren't time senstive as far back as possible.

So we'll see how I do!

PS - 6 weeks to go!!

I will gladly dance with you!! I love your list, it is a great way to break things down to a manageable situation. I get overwhelmed sometimes and that is a great idea.

I wish I hadn't seen that parks CD, now I want it .

It's been a crazy day today so this is my first chance to do any DISing... I need my fix! Alex had his first real playdate today. He's had a few kids over in kindergarten and first grade, but more because he wanted a play date than because he had a specific friend in mind. Last year he didn't have any. This year he has become friendly with one boy in his class - they've gotten pretty close & Alex had him over today. It went really well! I almost cried when they talked about being best friends!

Zach loves his coccoon! He hasn't ridden in a regular stroller in years, but loves that Disney stroller. Alex wants to be out and right in the middle of all the action! Not that Zach wants to miss things, he just wants to take things in in smaller doses.

Hi Amy. All your plans look great. for 6 weeks!! That means I have 7 weeks !!

I have the 4 parks CD also & I love it. I will be playing mine a lot now too as the trip gets closer.

TGM buttons??? I have used his plans for the past 3 years but did not realize he has buttons. After using his plans I did not order it for this trip as I now know how he does the "which park on which day" plan. He has lots of good suggestions though.

Still have not decided on the bag?? I think I will use the Disney sling bag I bought a few years ago. I know it is a pain with my glasses but I will not use it every day as it will be just my DH & I. You need to carry more than I do.
Let us know what you decide.

LOL! No I don't think Jordan knows...might need to inform him!

I bought the Millie-lu and did get 10% off (I think, maybe more) via ebags (+free shipping) and then the Fortune Kuky via a different site also at about 10% off (which hasn't arrived yet). So still...not cheap but OH! I love it.

Used it tonight and Evan commented on it.

Granted, he is my label and fashion kid (well heck, 3 out of 4 are lol) but it was interesting that he picked right up on the new bag and commented on how much he liked it.

It weights....NOTHING. Like carrying air. Granted, all I had in it was checkbook, lip gloss, the new wallet (which I also adore), cell phone and my keys.

For Disney I'd subtract the checkbook, add a glasses case, binder thingy and my camera.

The pockets are perfect.

I like the Ducky as well...may need to test drive it in another fabric option....
