Celebrating my Un-Birthday Disney Style-April 2010-New 5/3 - The TR has started!

Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade is so fun! :thumbsup2

Hooray for date night! :banana::banana:

I'm right there with you about Primeval Whirl...Never in my life have I felt my age as much as on that ride!

We've never seen the parade either. We always seem to be heading out just before it starts.

Ew...Primeval Whirl! We skipped it this time too. I have no desire to put my body through that either. Flame Tree BBQ is really yummy. Good call Amy! :thumbsup2

Amy, that picture of Zach with the Yeti is so cute!! Love it!! Your plans look great for AK, hopefully we will see you at some point during that day!! We are hoping to stay long enough for the parade as long as Helen can rest in the stroller! I will have to look on the map at the parade route and see the spot you are thinking of!!!

Your AK plans look really good!!:thumbsup2

Loved riding EE and Dinosaur last trip!! I'm hoping I can talk the boys in to riding them this year too!! I know they both want to ride Kali...they've mentioned it a few times. (1st for us too!;))

I'm not fond of Primeval Whirl either...too jerky.:rolleyes1

Loved the food at Flame Tree BBQ last year, but not the birds!!:scared1: They were everywhere!

YAY! for the parade!! We've never seen it but it looks like so much fun!:goodvibes

The parade is cute, we caught part of last time. Not on purpose but still, it was cute! Dawa is definitely a good spot. For many things. :lmao:

YAY for a date night!

We've never done Primeval Whirl. The kids were too little in '04 for it and this past trip other than Dinosaur we really skipped that entire section of the park.

We probably should check it out, I think my kids would love it actually.

Kali is a fun ride but be forewarned -- it is also rather short. Definitely worth going on though in my opinion!

Hurray for date night! I have heard great things about Shula's!

I'm glad you liked the parade too... :thumbsup2

Isn't Primeval Whirl awful... I always feel like I need to go to the chiropractor after I ride that!

We've never seen the parade either. We always seem to be heading out just before it starts.

That's usually what happens with us! I'm hoping we'll still be in the park at parade time because we'll probably be getting a later start.

We love Flame Tree BBQ - I think it's the only place we've ever eaten at AK.

Tim & Alex have ridden Kali a couple times, but Zach hasn't been interested so I've taken advantage of that to stay dry. :rolleyes1 I would like to ride it as some point though... We'll probably plan to hit it just before we leave the park - unless it's really cool & we want to cool off. Then I'll just be the goofy lady wearing the poncho. ;)

Avoid Primeval Whirl as long as you can. ;) It really is the jerkiest ride I've ever ridden. :sad2:

We're looking forward to date night! :cool1:

Hurray for date night! I have heard great things about Shula's!

I've heard that about Kali - I wonder why they did that? :confused3

Tim's looking forward to his big fat steak!

Hi! A bit behind I am afraid! SO I gotta say YAY for the power finally coming back on, we had an ice storm maybe five years ago that did the same thing to us, we borrowed my inlaw's generator, and stayed in a hotel a few nights too! That, with a 15 month old!

Anyhow, your Animal Kingdom visits seem to each have special moments! I am so jealous that you have seen Devine! I would love to catch her in action... We got our APs at the AK. The line that day was really short. so that is a good strategy. :thumbsup2 Kali is so much fun! A great FP ride! It is short, but you will like it!

I have heard great things about Shula's too! Good Choice!

Looking forward to more!

A generator is almost an essential up here in New England... but you guys got way more snow than us this year! Though I guess it isn't the snow that usually causes power problems for us.

I had Devine on my wish list, but wasn't even looking for her when we stumbled across her. It was really cool to see her! :thumbsup2

I think I'll enjoy Shula's more this year with the TIW card. ;)

Love all the pictures! :thumbsup2

I especially love the bus pic with (not sure which boy) sprawled out on the seats! Too cute and so appropriate....that's how I feel on the bus!

Oh....the squirrel attack! I would have been TERRIFIED!!!! LOL....I wish I had heard that story!

Check out my TR from that trip - It's the April Weekend Getaway - Without the boys... The actual TR starts on page 14. It's a pretty short one. :goodvibes

i love that pic of Illuminations from CBR!! Where were you when you took that? We're going to be staying at CBR so it would be nice to see it from there!!

We stayed in the Martinique section at CBR. We watched Illuminations from the Martinique beach. I had actually seen them a couple other times. After the kids had gone to bed, I had walked over to OPR and caught part of Illuminations. We finally got ourselves organized enough to keep the kids up and get over to the beach on time.

You'll really enjoy CBR! :thumbsup2

Your looking back pictures are great!!:thumbsup2The Chef Mickey pictures are adorable!! It looks like you've had some really wonderful trips!:)

How scary about the squirrel attack though!!:scared1:

That squirrel attack picture is hilarious!

I was laughing so hard! I can't believe I got a picture of it... that was actually the squirrels second "attack". :rotfl:

We're very lucky to have had so many great trips! We're looking forward to Chef Mickey's again this year.

I thought it was hysterical - my mother didn't think it was so funny until after the fact!

OK here it is... :teacher:

2010 Budget:
• Airfare: $1250 (paid)
• Rental Car: $550
• Condo exchange: $200 (charged)
• Condo annual maintenance fee/dues: $300 (paid)*
• Tickets: $1053 (1AP, 1 Adult 6 day PH, 2 Children's 6 day PH with tax)
• Waterpark tickets: $168
• Airport parking: $120
• Stroller: $100
• Gas for rental car: $150 (probably high but we have several hours of driving planned all over Florida on top of the day to day driving.)
• TIW card: $75
• Food: $1300+ (I need to take a closer look at this - it seems really high...)
• Spending money: $300?
• Total: $5566!!!!! (minus TIW savings)
• TIW Estimated savings: $120

*I don’t usually count the condo annual maintenance fees in my budget, since we have to pay it whether we use the condo or not, but technically it should be included in the cost so I did include it in this total.

So I'm curious to hear what you all think... I'll do another more detailed post about our food budget - I could use some help with that I think! :headache:
