My brother and his wife are staying at Old Key West this week with their two boys, using my points - this is their second visit to OKW, the first being 2 years ago on the same week, when they fell in love with the place and now can't consider staying anywhere else when it comes to Disney.

It's their anniversary today. Two years ago, I arranged a "Rehitchin' Ceremony" for them at the Garden Grill, but I was down there with them, so it was easy to come up with a surprise.

I'd like to do something special for them for today, but I can't find any information on anything like "gift baskets" or things like that. I considered calling the Garden Grill and asking them to put the dinner on MY credit card, but it was a long drawn out experience arranging the suprise "rehitchin'" last time, so I'm not hopeful in that direction.

Any ideas of something I can call the front desk for, and maybe have delivered to the room to surprise them? They are HUGE fans of the tub in the 1 bedroom they are in, maybe a basket with some spa stuff in it...but where can I find things like that?

Nothing like waiting till the last minute, huh? =)

The resort can deliver items available at the Conch Flats Store, but the WDW Florist can prepare and deliver specialty baskets and other items to the room. I don't have the number handy, but the resort can probably connect you to the florist.

Also, there is a local company Gifts of a Lifetime that specializes in planning events and surprises at WDW.

Sounds like a nice thought for your brother! :)

Gee, can you do the same for me Sunday, when we celebrate our 35th while at OKW?:p We are doing the rehitching thing at Garden Grill too!

Hmm, maybe the florist can think of something "fun" for them, good idea. I considered arranging for 1/2 hr massages for both of them, but they are there with my two young nephews, and don't know what they'd do with them during that time - and the idea is to REDUCE stress, not add to it! *grin*

I wish the florist, or the stores, had a website, so I could see what they might offer! I haven't been to OKW since our trip with my brother in 2001, so I dont' remember what they had there.

dianeschlicht, the rehitchin' was fun, although reading descriptions, it seems slightly different now than when they did it. :) Congrats on 35 years!!! :)

Ooops...that's the number for a caterer...

1-407-827-3505 instead, in case anyone else tries that. :)

I just sent them a basket they don't show on the website, a Spa Basket, which has things like Mickey towels, aromatherapy, a candle - all sorts of neat things, for $50. It'll be delivered to the front desk today, and put in their room as a surprise.

Isn't it fun how giving a gift makes the giver feel as good, if not better than the receiver??

thank you

they have been working on the web-site for a while - nice to know it is up.
