Celebrating a Birthday at WDW....

We will be celebrating my mom's 60th birthday in WDW. (Well actually we are celebrating the day before because we are flying home on her birthday.) IS there anywhere that makes good cakes? I would love to get her a cake and have it in her room when we come back from dinner that night! I looked at the In Room Celebrations and we can not even begin to afford that! I am going to try to find some decorations before we leave to do up the room that night. We are going to have her birthday dinner at Whispering Canyon and I thought maybe we could catch the firworks or something that evening before heading back to our rooms. We are staying in the WL Villas. (never stayed there before. We were going to stay in a condo but our trip dates had to be changed. With the 4/3 package we decided to go for it.) Any ideas on some ways to make up her room and still keep it reasonable? Or where to get a cake that is good?

well, if you have a car you could go to a local supermarket and buy a cake yourself. If you let most restaruants Know that it is a birthday they will give you a free dessert. Mini cakes are also available at most restarunts if you ask at the podium when you check in. Be sure to take advantage of the free perks disney is now offering. Mom can get a one day ticket, a gift card of about $75 dollars , or fastpasses at a park on the actual day of her birthday. Make sure to get her a birthday button to wear every day of the trip,too. Have a magical day.

The Goodings at Crossroads makes some of the most incredibly yummy cakes...I'm sure that there's a phone number for them and they would be able to make any kind of cake you'd need...

I totally forgot about that!! I just went and registered her. We are actually celebrating the night before her birthday becuase we are flying home on her birthday in the afternoon. But with a gift card she could pick out something ahead of time and we could just go get it before leaving that day!!

We were there in September for my DD's birthday and I ordered her a Cinderella white chocolate glass slipper dessert. I know it isn't a cake and it really can only feed 2 people, but it was delicious and beautiful! She loved it. It was around $15 I think and I got it at the Grand Floridian. I think other places make it too. It was definitely a special treat for her special day...
