Celebrating 9 days with my 4 kids(7,6,4,2)May 2009, I know I'm late starting this TR

I just have to say one more thing before I do my surprise update. I can't believe I almost forgot to mention one of the most important moments of my trip.

So, While we were in DTD my DH mentions that he needs to get a swimsuit because he never did find the ones I packed for him. I kept reassuring him that they were still in the suitcase and that I would get them out when we got back. Then he started panicking about what if I only thought I packed them and didn't. He was worried because the next day we were going to one of the waterparks. Well, I started thinking that if he didn't see them in the suitcase when he brought Princess(DD2) to the pool earlier, that maybe I didn't get them. So we went into some stores until we found one that had men's swimsuits in them. Guess how much men's swimsuits are at DTD. Guess. Have you guessed yet? Alright, you know I am going to tell you anyways. $40.00:scared1: I couldn't believe it, and that was the cheapest we could find. DH purchased his swimsuit and we left.

Now, I just want to note for the record that when we got back to the room I decided to search for those swimsuits that I had packed. You will never believe it, but they were there in the suitcase right where I said they were going to be. :cloud9: So here is where I did the ," I was right" dance. :dance3: My poor DH felt horrible. Oh well, he probably needed a new swimsuit anyways.

I have a friend who says to her kids when they are looking for something,"are you looking like a boy, or are you looking like a girl?" No offense to any men, it is just the majority of men just look at what ever is right in front of them. If they don't see what they are looking for, then it is not there. The majority of women will move stuff aside and search through items to find what they are looking for. No hard feelings!

So now that I am done with my few minutes on a soap box, I will continue with what you are waiting for anyways. The surprise! I will have it done in a little while, I promise!:upsidedow

Awww. Thanks, this made me feel better about being a procrastinator. :goodvibes How old are your girls? I am so excited for you going on your first Disney trip!!! You are going to have so much fun, and the 12 weeks will go by fast.[/QUOTE]

Ack - I made a nice reply and then DIS logged me out! Aack.

I have a 9 year old and 2 year old twins. I'll try to post a picture - this is my first attempt at posting a photo on DIS.

My twins are going through a don't take a picture, just show us the pictures on the screen phase!

I have to admit that I am being a mean Mommy and leaving the twins home with their father (a SAHD) for 9 days! See we weren't planning on going to Disney as a family until 2012, but I made an offhand comment when I tallied up what we had spent on Christmas and Birthdays last year, "gee we could've gone to Disney for that!" And my DH said "why don't you?" The twins however, will not sleep out of their own cribs at the moment. I graciously offered to let my husband be the one to bring her, but he said he didn't like planning travel and hates "rides." So I get to be the one to take her! I think when we go in 2012 he'll realize what he is missing! So 2 FF mile tickets later, 1 copy of the UG and hours on DIS, I'd gone from a reservation at POP to CSR to Beach Club Villas (Studio). I always wanted to go to Disney as a kid, but as one of 6 kids we never could go. I am super excited!

BTW - my daughter doesn't know yet. She knows there is a special surprise that she is getting instead of Christmas and Birthday gifts, but her speculations are currently that she is getting a computer or maybe a trip to Chicago and a visit to the American Girl Store there. :rotfl2: Her teacher thanked us profusely :worship: when we told her that we would not tell Madeline until the actual trip. She would never be able to think about anything else! :rotfl: So I am bursting at the seams with noone to talk to about it! Wow - I must be bursting, that was a long reply! Maybe I should do a PTR.

Alright already people. Back to the show.

Before I planned out this trip I had read a trip report that was done by someone that was chosen to be a part of Disney's mom's panel. In her TR, when they went to their room one night, they opened the door and the room had been decorated with a bunch of welcome stuff. She had also mentioned that they do birthday celebration packages, so I decided I wanted to do one. They had two packages, the larger one is Mickey and Pals celebration, and the smaller one is Mickey celebration. I opted for the smaller one since the price was half as much and we already had some of the stuff that came with the larger package. I then added some items to the smaller package so that all of my kids would be getting something since we were celebrating everyone's birthdays while there.

Here is what came with the Mickey Celebration package.

-A plush Mickey with a light up lanyard
-Mickey Balloon and a birthday banner
-autograph book with a Mickey pen
-a chocolate candy cake made by Minnie
-Mickey ears with personalized name embroidered on it
-Mickey and gang picture frame with personalized message
-light up Tinkerbell hidden in the room

I then added
-A plush Minnie, since she is one of Princess's favorite
-2 more autograph books with pens(I only gave the autograph books to the boys because I figured they would be more into it)
-3 more personalized ears
-3 more light up lanyards

So now I bet you are wanting to see the pictures. Actually, you probably have already scrolled down and looked at the pictures, haven't you. I knew it. Here are some pictures of what it looked like before the kids got to it. I had also picked up the Daisy Duck that you see laying on the bed earlier in the day for Princess(DD2).

Alright, I will go back to when we were walking back to the room and Princess(DD2) was asleep. We woke her up before we got to the room and luckily she wasn't so out of it. She sat up and looked at us. I mean.... it was one of those blank stares, but at least she was up and listening as I explained to the kids that Mickey had come to our room while we were out at dinner and left us a surprise. I then told them they could not go into the room until I got some pictures first, and I wanted to get them on the camera as they came in the room. I guess I didn't realize that the curtains on the window were open so they could see straight into the room while I was taking pictures. So I missed their initial reaction because they saw it before they came in the room. I did get some video of them entering the room.

So now I bet you are wondering what was in the box on the bed. Well, I will show you. We let Princess Mia open it since it was her birthday.

I thought for sure there was going to be something in the box. Oh well, it didn't take but a second before they were over the empty box and checking out their new stuff.

Here is some video of Princess with her stuff. She was going to make Minnie give Mickey a kiss, and then all of the sudden she didn't want Mickey. Just the girls.(Minnie and Daisy) I also realized in this video that she had another little plastic Minnie in her hand. Funny, I must have picked up more stuff for her than I realized. I don't remember when we got that one.

Of course, now my kids were wired. They ended up staying up until almost 11:00. Oh well, it didn't matter. The next day was Blizzard Beach, so we could take our time in the morning since they didn't open until 10:00.

Wow!! You all look just alike! You and your girls are so super cute, very pretty!

I do the same thing all the time when I think of the cost of Christmas and Birthdays. I am so glad that you are going to be able to go and stay at CSR! You are going to love it. How sweet that you are going to be able to go with your 9 year old. I bet this will mean so much to her since the twins probably require a lot of your free time. I just want to cry just thinking about it. You will also be able to do a lot more since she can probably ride all the rides with you. With the twins you would have to parent swap and take turns. I wish you would do a PTR, because I want to know how you break the news to her that you are going to WDW!! That is way better than American Girl or a computer! She is going to love it! :thumbsup2

BTW, I like the button!

Lovely surpirse. They all look brill with there hats on. Princess looks so cute with her minnie. Great idea for a birthday x

Great update!!!!

That surprise was so nice! How was the cake? Was it good? I've ordered four cakes in the past from Disney-Grand Floridian private dining, and they have not been the best!!

Baby girl is so cute. I feel so sorry for her future boyfriends. She will have three big brothers and a daddy! Lol.

Yes, check out the food porn TR in my siggie! ;) It is from 2007!

Thanks! I will do a PTR - I just needed the encouragement. I loved the surprise. I was wondering if you'd done the Disney Florist thing. What a nice surprise for your kids!

I hope you see the mullet woman while you are there too.

I have to cackle at this one! I'm sure we will it's Southern FL. :P It's bound to happen! I love the B-day celebrations! Everyone was so happy and I'm glad you guys finally made it to the Lego store. At least when we went that least it was packed as well! Geez! But DH had to get a Star Wars lego and put it together. Kind of a short lived thrill however. :P

Thanks. I have not heard the word brill before, but I like it!:)

What a lovely surprise. How lovely to see all your kids so excited :)

Thanks. I was watching those videos and thinking that I can't believe how much my kids have grown since then. Time goes by so fast.

Great update!!!!

Princess will definitely be protected as she gets older. Her brothers are already always trying to take care of her.

The minnie cake was actually just a piece of chocolate, and was hollow in the inside. I ate a little bit of it here or there, but I think the kids ate most of it. I wasn't crazy about it, the chocolate actually had a little of a grainy texture to it. Now, my favorite show on tv is Cake Boss. I would love to try one of Carlo's cakes. They always look so good.

Thanks! I am excited that you are going to do a PTR and a TR. Let me know when you get it started so I can sub. I want to know how your trip goes. You are going to love it. The only problem is you are not going to want to leave. The good news is you will probably get to go back, because you will eventually want to take the twins too.

I am glad to know you enjoy a mullet as much as I do.:lmao:

I am also so glad your DH was able to get himself a Star Wars Lego.;) My husband loves to help the boys with theirs, but now the boys are wanting to do it by their self. I don't think guys ever grow out of the lego phase. I will have to admit, I like to help the kids with them too. It is fun.

Great update!!!!

I must say that I have jumped over there and started looking at it. I have not finished yet, but I just want you to know that your family so beautiful. I know your DD has probably grown a lot since then, but man she had a lot of hair. I love, love, love those little pompom ponytails on little girls. Absolutely adorable.

I also must ask, How does your DH not like cheese? Does he not know that everything is better with cheese, bacon, or butter? I will try anything if it has me some bacon or cheese in it! :lmao: I have been drooling looking at your food porn. Must go finish, I have probably gained 6 Ibs looking at it. Also, that cake did look good. Too bad it didn't taste as good as it looked. At least they gave you all the other sweets. I love some chocolate covered strawberries.

Congrats on your DS. Now you will have to take him to WDW too.

What a great surprise! They all look so cute in their ears!! I need to do something like that for for my dh/ds's birthdays when we go. I love getting to see POR in your pics since we will be staying there!

Thanks! The Disney Florist has all kinds of things that they set up. It is so fun to come in and see what they have done, they did a good job.

So, you decided to stay at POR? You will love it. :thumbsup2

My DH is the 1st person I've ever known who does not like cheese!!! I :love:cheese! It's difficult to cook dinner for him because I love all things cheese! :lmao:

We plan to take DS to WDW during summer for his 1st trip. We first took DD when she was 6 months. Oh, DD has really grown up since then. She just turned 3 in November. Here she is as Princess Tiana at Halloween!
