Hi all!

Looks like are heading back to Disney from April 28th (my daughter's 6th birthday) until May 7th. We are staying at the Beach Club Villas so I'm looking for a great place for us to have dinner on her birthday.

We are flying in that day. The plane is set to land at MCO at 2:07pm. By the time we get our luggage, checked in at BCV, dropped our bags in our room, we should be able to do dinner somewhere as long as we stay in the Epcot area. Is this wishful thinking?

I can make our dining reservations on October 31st, so I really want to have them nailed down as we are not doing the dining plan. Anyways, where would you recommend we eat in Epcot for dinner that night? I would do something special like CRT, Mickey's Backyard BBQ or something like that, but I just don't think we have enough time to get there while relying on disney transportation.

DH and I are pretty much game for anything, the girls are typical younger children and don't often try much that isn't a pizza, chicken finger, sandwich of some sort, although the 8 year old is getting better. Should we just forgo a sit down and eat around the world in Epcot? I just thought it would be neat for her to get her own little dessert that they do for birthdays at the restaurants. lol as if being in Disney wasn't a celebration enough:rolleyes: I want to try to get into Cape May Cafe for breakfast the next morning, as she is in love with Minnie.

I would appreciate your thoughts and ideas!

What about Akershus Royal Banquet Hall Princess Storybook Character Dining
Norway - World Showcase - Epcot Dinner?

Its a little pricey if you arent on the dining plan but seems like a special dinner for a girls birthday.

I thought about that. They both love the princesses, however I was a little scared of the food :) I would love to hear what other people thought of it. We did it for breakfast and enjoyed it, but dinner is throwing me off a bit.

Akershus is also the first thing that came to mind for me. Our girls are 2 and 5 and they've been to dine in Norway once for lunch and once for dinner. I think they both got pizzas each time we went, but surprisingly the cold buffet is more to their liking. DD2 adores the bread and cold cuts/cheese and DD5 loves the smoked salmon and shrimp salad.

I guess if you're worried, Garden Grill might be an option or Coral Reef (although not too fond of the food there). I know Biergarten is a lot of fun as well and a number of kids really enjoy the novelty of Teppan Edo, but if your kids are really picky- they may not be up for it.

Ooooooooh, I agree with PP. Garden Grill! Garden Grill!!!!!!!!!

Plus, they have a really fun dessert for kids. I ask for it instead of the adult dessert.

We did Akershus for my DD's 5th birthday. Really , there is nothing on that menu that is very different from any other WDW restaurant. Like most all of the other WDW menus nowadays, you have the standard beef dish, salmon dish pork dish, pasta dish, and i believe Akershus still has the traditional norwegian meatloaf dish, but that's about as exotic as it gets. The cold bar is also wonderful with salads, cold cuts, and shrimp and smoked salmon.

I do think Garden Grill is a good choice for a birthday, too, but Akershus also includes a picture with Belle that is included with the meal. It just seems a little more special.
