Celebrating 15 Years of Love and Laughter! A September '14 PTR! UPDATE 09/15

Wednesday, 9/10:
Our plans for this day start in the Magic Kingdom on the Keys to the Kingdom Tour. For a long time I've wanted to do a tour in one of the parks, and the Keys to the Kingdom has always been at the top of my list. I cannot wait to see the "behind the scenes" parts, especially the utilidors.

After the tour's over, our plan is to stay in the park until early evening. We have FP's for Space Mountain, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Big Thunder. I really hope to be able to catch the new parade, but we'll have to wait and see how it works out with our FP times. I tried to get a FP for the parade, but there was nothing available.

As for meals on this day, we'll probably either eat breakfast in the room or a counter service on the way to the park. If I remember correctly, lunch is included in the tour, so that will be great. And dinner will be at my favorite restaurant in all of WDW--'Ohana!

And that's it for day 5...it doesn't look like a lot when I write it all out, but the tour will take up the majority of the day as it lasts 5 hours.

Well you can skip the mealie pap (kind of like grits ish but not as good) but the mustard sauce on the rice is divine!

Any chance you could stick some bread pudding away and bring it home to me? :)

I'm willing to give them both a try!:thumbsup2

Thursday, 9/11:
This day will be our actual anniversary--15 years, to be exact. And, we starting off the day in a way that most couple probably would not start off when celebrating their anniversary...we're going fishing! Mike LOVES to fish--especially for Bass, and I don't mind it as long as I'm at least getting bites. We did the guided excursion from the Wildnerness Lodge twice now and really loved it. We hadn't planned on doing another one anytime soon, until we got a recent issue of Disney Files. Mike had sat down to read it like he does every month, then began reading aloud about this new offering they were going for DVC members. The cost is much cheaper than the guided excursion and includes breakfast! But the part that "hooked" both of us was the fact that it's a tournament, and there's a chance of winning prizes! This time we'll be leaving from the Contemporary, which will be fun!

The tournament is over at noon, so once we finish up there, the plan is to head back to the room and freshen up, if needed, before heading to the MK for the afternoon. We have FP's at Peter Pan, Seven Dwarfs and Splash. We won't be able to stay too long since we have our anniversary dinner booked at California Grill and I know we'll need to head back for a shower and clothes change before then.

I'm super excited about dining at Cali Grill again...we ate there for our anniversary back in 2007 and loved it! I also have a surprise planned for Mike that's suppose to be delivered to the room, so hopefully it will be waiting when we get back!

And that's it for our Day 6 plans!

We're doing the SINGLE DIGIT DANCE, folks!!

I can't even begin to convey in words the excitement that Mike and I are feeling right now! I feel like we both really NEED this vacation worse that we have in a long time! I just hope that we are able to soak in every single moment and enjoy our time there!

Now for our plans for day 7:
Friday, 9/12
We'll be heading for the waterparks on this day. I'm not sure yet which one we'll go for first, but most likely it will be Typhoon Lagoon since it's our favorite. We plan to spend a few hours there before we head to the other waterpark. The only other time we've been to the waterparks was back in 2007, so it's been a few years. I can't wait to get on Crush N' Gusher again...it's hands down our very favorite water ride, ever!

We won't be able to stay at the water parks too terribly late (even though they close at 5), as we'll have to get back to the resort and get showered and gussied up for our portrait session over at the BoardWalk. I've been wanting to do a session for a while now, and I decided that now was the time...plus I figured it would be nice to have some photos to document our 15th year together!

After our session is over, we'll head to Downtown Disney for dinner at Ragland Road, which will be our first time. I've read some great things about this place and I'm looking forward to trying it.

And that's it for day 7. Only one more day left to share!!

Yall are going to have such an awesome trip! I cant wait to see the portrait pictures!!!

I'm definitely going for pizza at Via Napoli!

We use any reason/excuse we can to get to Disney!

I'm very anxious to finally try Raglan Road. It's been on my radar for a while, but other restaurants have always taken priority! I hope you have a great experience there, too!

I can't believe how fast my posting of plans has been. I expected it to take a lot longer, but maybe it's a good thing that it hasn't considering WE LEAVE THIS WEEKEND!! I'm not sure what else I'll have to post between now and then, if anything, but I will come back and post the link for my trip report for sure!

And now for our last day's plans...Day 8:
Saturday, 9/13
Our first order of business on this day will be checking out of the Grand Villas and into our Royal Guest Room at Port Orleans Riverside! Once all that stuff is out of the way, we plan to head back to our favorite park...Magic Kingdom. We will have to be up fairly early in order to get things taken care of in time to get to our breakfast at Crystal Palace. I just can't go without having a meal with my favorite character and all his Hundred Acre Wood friends!

After breakfast, we have FP's for Enchanted Tales with Belle (a first), meet and greet with Anna and Elsa, and a ride on the Haunted Mansion.

I'm not sure how long we'll be in the park, but if we haven't already caught the new parade by this day, then I hope that we can catch it on this day. We do plan to head out early enough to head back to the resort to enjoy a boat ride to Downtown Disney for dinner at Earl of Sandwich, which has become a must do for us. I'm sure we'll finish up any last minute shopping while we're there and partake in one last treat from Ghirardelli!

And that's it--those are our 8 days of plans! As I mentioned above, I'll try to come back with one final post before we leave this weekend, but if not then I'll definitely be back with the link to my TR!

Thanks for following along!

Plans for your last day look great. Maybe I will see you this night as our plans have us possibly going to DTD at night on the 13th.

Hi Missy!

I just caught up on your PTR- your plans look great! I am so jealous you are DVC members! That is a dream of mine! :goodvibes

I'm sorry to read about your sister, I hope that everything is going well for her. Positive thoughts to you both!

I love the Minnie head band you will be wearing, its so cute.
I also LOVE your Vera bag too!! Yay Disney Vera's!

I'm excited to hear how you liked doing a split-stay. It seems like a lot of people do this on their trips but I never have. When my Dad and I went we would always stay at Grand Floridian and I love it there so much!

It seems that on the 13th we will both be at MK! Maybe we will run into each other!

Happy Anniversary in advance also! It is so awesome you both love Disney so much and are spending your Anniversary there! :lovestruc

Thank you, Lauren!

I feel very fortunate to be a DVC member...I know that if we weren't we certainly wouldn't be able to make the trips that we do! I hope that you can join the "club" one day!;)

Thanks for the kind words about my sister. Unfortunately, the problem isn't fixed and we may be looking at something a little more serious. I'm not going to worry just yet, until the doctor confirms (at least that's what I keep telling myself)!

This will be our first ever split stay, so I'm super excited. I can't wait to get to get to the Grand...it's always been one of my dream resorts!

I do hope that we run into each other on the 13th--that would be so awesome!!:)

Ahh, hi Missy! I cannot believe I missed your PTR! I'm kicking myself for that. In the future, if I haven't commented on one of your threads, send me a PM or a post on Facebook, because I'd hate to miss any more. I love hearing about your plans/trips! :goodvibes

As of right now, you're already on your trip, so I'll just say that I hope you're having an absolutely wonderful time and that all your great plans come through. Enjoy Via Naploli, Ohana's, and California Grill. So many yummy restaurants!

It sounds like you and Mike have a lot of fun activities lined up. A tournament and a tour; I really can't wait to hear how those went.

And definitely enjoy all those amazing resorts. I have to admit, your trip sounds like a dream to me.:rotfl2: between the BC and GFV and Ohana's and numerous FPs Im over here wanting to plan a trip myself. :rotfl:

Awe, Alicia! Thanks so much! It means a lot for you to say that because I feel like my writing style is quite boring compared to yours! So thanks for reading!

Hey Missy! I'm caught up and looking forward to hearing all about your trip!

Hello, there! Thanks for reading! I'm so glad to have you here!

Welp, here I am, back from an amazing, wonderful vacay! We got home around 6 yesterday evening and were back in the grind this morning!

I did manage to sit down and look through the majority of the many pictures we took during the week, so I hope to start getting those organized tonight!

As I mentioned, we had a wonderful time. We got pretty worn out part ways through the trip, so we didn't stick to our plans exactly, but we did for the most part. Thinking back, the trip seems like a long time ago, but then again it felt like it flew right by. I know y'all understand! I will say it seems like it was as hot or hotter and more humid than I remember our past trips being!

So thanks for sticking around. As soon as I get started, I'll be back here to post the link to the report!:)

Hey, welcome back!

I know what you mean....our August trip seemed LONG at the time, but after we returned it seemed like it happened forever ago.

Looking forward to the report.

Thank you! Isn't it crazy how things can feel one way, but then totally different when you think about it in another way!
