WHen I was working at WDW in 2003, we had a downpour like that just as the parade arrived in front of the Castle. Granted, nothing got stuck, but it was just amazing to see the parade CMs eeping the show going for the guests who hadn't ducked for cover. It was one of the best parades I ever saw because the people who stayed were so glad the show went on.

Yes it happens occasionally....even when they keep an eye on the radar, the storms just pop up! Who knew the floats could move this fast?

They also have a back up plan if the radar is so bad they cant sent the regular parade out...
