Welcome to my pre-trip report. I haven’t written a trip report in a while (probably since leaving school), but even though I have made many trips to Disney World since, I haven’t had a chance to complete one due to things like university commitments. But this trip report is a special one and one that I’d really like to share.

For the past year I have been studying for my Master’s degree so coupled with the expense of that, alongside not yet having a job lined up for when I finish a trip to Disney World was really not on the cards…well until earlier this year.

Let’s rewind 15 years ago to when the story began.

Back in 2001 was my first trip to Walt Disney World, despite having been to Disneyland Paris a couple of times previously it wasn’t quite the same as WDW. One evening my parents and I went to the Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner (back when they had character dining there). Afterwards we decided to watch the Main Street Electrical Parade. Being the rather short child I was (and now a relatively small adult XD) I had difficulty seeing through the crowds, as I’m sure many people do. So my parents asked a Canadian family whether I could stand behind their strollers so I could see. Kindly they said yes and mentioned I could even sit in one of them if I wanted. Thanks to the take off in modern technology at the turn of the millennium our parents exchanged emails and we have kept in touch ever since, with numerous trips to visit each other including back to Disney World. It is truly amazing what one evening can do.

Anyway, going back forward to earlier this year. I woke up one morning (being 5 hours ahead in the UK) to a message asking if I would be a bridesmaid at one of the girl’s wedding who I met back in 2001. This led to the reaction of running around the house in excitement (like a child finding out they are going to Disney for the first time). Of course I said yes! Little did I know at this point that it is to be held at the Grand Floridian Wedding Pavilion…cue over excited adult take 2.

So that’s the story of how this trip has come about. As you can see it is definitely going to be one with a twist, albeit very busy no doubt. I hope you join me for updates and ultimately the trip report :)
