I would certainly assume that there will be many paths around this proposed regulation just like there are for current vaccination requirements. I could see some countries requiring it for entry, you want to go there, you have to follow their rules.

Were there people who said international travel and schools were in no way possible to have vaccine required? I mean I remember the discussion regarding other things like concerts, movies, and such but I don't honestly remember people not believing international travel and schools as being high up on the list of possible things that would require a vaccine. Those two are hardly new so it shouldn't be a "see I knew what I was talking about" thing.

Also keep in mind WILL and possible aren't the same thing. We expect it to be required but it is not mandated as such at this time.

Yeah and he says it will be left up to cities and states as to whether they will require it (or even individual school districts). Schools and travel are one thing, a place like Disney or just a store is a completely separate issue.

I don't think it would be a good idea to allow vacations around the world unless you have the protection from the vaccine even as new as the vaccine is. I also think that will make people who can't get the vaccine upset but some of these countries really need to get back to having travelers.

I'm not sure if peeps knew about the WI situation where the pharmacist intentionally left out what is now about 570 doses from the fridge but now they've found out the doses were left out even longer than originally thought AND that 57 doses were used from that box of doses. They've now notified those patients that they may not have the level of protection assumed to have.

The fact that we have to worry about that kind of stuff even happening on top of the distribution and number of available doses for each group and all the rest of the stuff, there's just no words for that.

It's been floated around for months as far as news stories. Other medical professionals I remember discussing the topic more on a general note. Even now it's just speculation still because it's just put in the "possible" window. I think it was just expected either way at least for a big push for those two things though who knows if it will be a mandate at the Federal government level or not.

The news articles discussing the other stuff that a vaccine may be required about is what got the tongues wagging so to speak because those were common experiences people do that do not require medical stuff like that. Most of us are used to schools requiring some vaccines, and we did or at least some people were discussing them likely not allowing exemptions for this as we've seen how that's worked out and then travel seems logical.

Yes Fauci has discussed it before though he's gone back and forth on it likely will or likely won't. I know he's a trusted highly respected member but all he can give is his viewpoint. In August he said the Federal government wouldn't mandate it (saying they couldn't though I don't know enough about that if that's the case) for the general public but that it was different if businesses chose to or schools. Though if you look at your article it does say "I’m not sure [the COVID-19 vaccine] going to be mandatory from a central government standpoint, like federal government mandates,” Fauci said, though he added that he’s “sure” that some individual institutions will require the shot."

So it might just be industry norms like the airlines having that as their policy. I think that's just the expected part I guess.

Another misleading headline from a publication infamous for them. Fauci said "these are all things that will be discussed", essentially avoiding taking a position when he was asked to speculate on what the incoming administration would do. That's no more an indicator of what will or won't happen than any of the previous speculation, but the headline certainly makes for good fodder to get people to assume the headline is the content and share accordingly.

Did you read the article? Because this literally says nothing. Vaccines POSSIBLY mandatory. Great, that’s not new. This is all just speculation. (And Fauci can’t pass regulations himself anyhow...)

It is true that Fauci cannot pass regulations, however, our legislatures rely on the CDC to make their laws based on their recommendations, and Fauci is part of the CDC.

If people just open their eyes they can see they are acclimating the public to get used to vaccine proof to fly or enter any large public space, which includes Disney World. I would be shocked if this didn't happen by the end of 2021. I would go as far as predicting that Disneyland will not open until these vaccine certificates/proof of vaccine is in place. They are creating the technology right now to do so.

What you say makes sense. What pushes me to think it's going in the proof of vaccine direction is that the media seems to be pushing it quite a bit.
