Hi All, my wife and I have a trip booked for this coming July with our three kids 7, 4, and 1 and we still cannot decided on cooper creek or beach club. We are looking to stay in a one bedroom and both resorts are the same price. We have stayed at the wildernesses lodge multiple times throughout the years but haven’t stayed in the new villas yet. We enjoy the convenience of WL to the magic kingdom, quick service options and geyser point of course. However, we find ourselves continuing to look at beach club since we have never stayed here before. The pool of course looks amazing but is it too hectic and crowded for our little guys? No quick service that is decent but great location to the boardwalk and of course Epcot. What do you guys think? Switch to BCV or keep our CCV? Thanks for your help picking!!!

Are you staying on points or paying cash? It doesn’t look like there is a whole lot available at BCV in July. That may make your decision for you.

I'm assuming you're paying cash since your post implies there is availability at both locations which there isn't via DVC route. That aside, both are fun resorts with things to appeal to every age. Here are just a couple of pros and cons to the resorts:
BEACH CLUB
Pros: Location to two parks, especially Epcot. Easy to get back to your room for breaks. Lots of dining options nearby. Pool.
Cons: Pool--it's a huge pool and quite hectic, so while your two oldest might love it, I've noted that many parents warn it can be difficult to keep an eye on little ones due to its sprawling nature. Overall, we've found BC to be a bit more hectic and noisy.
COPPER CREEK
Pros: Quieter resort. Boat transportation to MK. Better themed. Great kids splash area in the main pool
Cons: Limited dining options--Whispering Canyon is okay; Roaring Fork is a below average QS; Geyser Point has a limited menu and though essentially a bar/lounge, you must wait to be seated by a server though food is solid; Artist Point is now a character meal with a set menu (though you have a few entree options) and is relatively expensive. Other than MK, it's not closer to any other parks than any other resort, though we've found the bus service over the past decade and a half to be above average. I believe the 1BRs here are slightly larger than at Beach Club.

We thought about a split stay but with three kids

Thanks so much for your advice! Yes I'm booking on cash with a nice AP discount. After your post I'm thinking CCV might be best. Thanks again!

You're welcome! I leaned toward CCV because it's the sister to my home resort, VWL. As a place to really unwind and enjoy the kiddos, it's tough to beat; however, I did want to give you an honest assessment. Have fun!

For what it's worth I think you have made a very good decision staying with CCV. The pool is great for the "kiddos" and you can boat over to the MK which based on the age of your children is probably the park they will enjoy the most. I hope you have a very magical time at WDW. Enjoy! pixiedust:

We stayed at BCV with three young kids and found it very hectic. Hard to keep an eye on the little ones with the layout and slide configuration. Also the lazy river is DEEP and has a good current. It is also located very close to the little sand play area so can be dangerous. Unless you have strong swimmers I would suggest them all wearing the life jackets. Having said all that it is a beautiful resort with an amazing pool and lazy river. We definitely want to go back now that the kids are older.

I found both the main pool and the existing quiet pool at WL to be very crowded (we went in September a few years ago. We also had to wait for the next boat almost every time (cause we always seemed to line up when the little boat was coming). I have never not been able to get on a boat at BCV. I also love being able to walk to Epcot and DHS (although with 3 little ones, you may not be so inclined to walk to DHS).

Stormalong Bay is awesome but it's huge. But you can station your kids in smaller areas (sand bar, whirlpool, kiddie slides) for watching.

Save BCV for when your kids are older, stick to WL and the ease of Magic Kingdom. Boating to FW for a meal, pony rides or the playground is a nice way to spend a few hours.
