CCV 2 bedroom availability?????

We have been discussing buying a CCV contract this summer strictly with the intention of using it for 2 bedroom villas. We’ve held off buying since we aren’t planning to start going again until late 2022. My last hurdle/concern to purchase is availability. I’ve read about the studios having booking issues at CCV at 11 months but not 2 bedrooms really.
However when I look at the availability of 2 bedrooms with the availability calendars such as tools.dvcvacations, the 2 bedrooms have zero availability. Take today for example. I look at July 15, 2022 and it shows no availability and have been seeing this each day since I found this tool the last several weeks.
I love the idea of DVC, but paying this money for a contract then to not be able to book at 11 months seems crazy. Can any members confirm that 2 bedrooms at CCV have no availability at 11months like these “availability calendars” claim?

I wouldn't put much faith in 3rd-party availability calendars. Ever since the DVC website was migrated to a new server last month, those websites have been unable to check availability regularly.

Typically, 2BR villas are available longer than studios if there are dedicated 2BR villas at the resort. BWV, for example, has no dedicated 2BRs and so availability there is a reflection of studio availability. CCV, OTOH, has 56 dedicated 2BR villas plus the cabins, which also have 2BRs.

Many people have recommended a guaranteed week at CC due to heavy points at cabin. Creates less availability at othe categories. There are great threads on guaranteed weeks you should check out.

This is great to know! I never considered the new server creating issues with 3rd party availability calendars. Thanks!

If you have a week you would travel frequently but changing it at times it could still work for you. You can cancel and use your points at other times but the guaranteed week is there for you every year if you want to use it. I don’t own CC so no personal experience but this was a pretty helpful tool precovid, many things are different now with the build up of points but take a look at the thread anyway, might give you an idea of availability.

There are tons of excess points in the system due to Covid and with Dec being one of the most popular times at WL I had to book our trip a day at a time as the people walking reservations dropped their days. Even so, I got exactly what we wanted and I imagine that was probably a worst case scenario. I'm not concerned going forward about being able to use our points there.

Also, looking at the actual availability for next July there is plenty right now at CCV in 2BR's (most categories, really).

Thanks for this info! This is exactly what I was looking for!! I feel so much better knowing there is actual availability on the DVC member booking site 11 months out versus what the third party schedules are showing. Much appreciated!!!

And that could change tomorrow. That's why the DIS doesn't want posters to provide information on villa availability if the person cannot book within the next two or three minutes.

Makes sense. But I had no intentions on booking at all even in the next several months. It was good to hear that third party availability calendars showing absolutely no availability at 0800 every single day for 2 bedrooms isn’t accurate at all. I was fearful of buying into DVC and then getting locked out at 11 months at a home resort based on what I saw each day. All the replies helped me with this last concern!!!!!

I have deleted a few posts as we ask that owners do not post real time availability. Unless one is ready to book it means little, especially since the website does not indicate how many rooms there are.

I stopped using 3rd party availability calendars all together. My old fav no longer works. I looked for a week in April and it said no availability for 2-bedroom lockoffs, but full availability for studios and one-bedrooms. Since that’s not possible, that info is basically useless.

Those were never more than snapshots of a particular time. If they don't work anymore, I'm glad. IMO, they added an unnecessary load to the servers and had very little value to members.
