CBS’s True Lies TV series. What happens after the movie:

“Shocked to discover that her bland and unremarkable computer consultant husband is a skilled international spy, an unfulfilled suburban housewife is propelled into a life of danger and adventure when she’s recruited to work alongside him to save the world as they try to revitalize their passionless marriage.”

Thanks for posting this - I love the movie and the TV show trailer looks entertaining - we’ll give this show a chance. No start date though, so that’s annoying - I‘d normally set myself a reminder, because I know my brain will forget :rolleyes2

Maybe it's just me, but with a lot of these TV previews, if you don't play it back in slow motion, is it hard to figure out what exactly they are showing. Never saw the movie, but apparently he is a spy who acts like a regular guy when at home.

The series is what happens after the movie. The pilot is going to be an abridged version of it (cutting out some of the extra unnecessary plots). This is what fans wanted in the 90’s and the movie is a great classic. If CBS sticks mostly to the original storyline/themes, it will do well. If they modernize to much, it may fail. They just have to balance it. Give the show a chance. You may really like it.
Original movie trailer:

i dunno if i can get past the male lead-i will forever see him as sweet, goofy 'van' from the show 'reba'. i am looking forward to giving it a try.

I'm only interested if it is going to have soccer. Will there be soccer in it? There is a 98.3% chance it has soccer if you are posting about it and I want to be ready for it. :rotfl:

One of the kids might play soccer but I was a fan of the movie before I became a soccer fan so there’s that….:duck::rolleyes1

It had just struck me who he is. I was impressed by acting for the previews though.

If you get the chance to see the original, do it. It is a really good movie. Even many funny spots.

Harry is partly an action goofy character, so he will probably be great for the part.

I think one difference between the movie and the series is that the kids won’t know their parents are spies while in the movie they did.
