Hi!
I've only been to Disney once when I was 18. (A couple of moons ago.) Now going with the family. We first were set on All Star Movies, but here the cheerleaders might be there the first week of December when we're going. Now looking at CBR and PORFQ. I absolutely LOVE the idea of having sand and a "beach" on the property. We won't have time to go the ocean. I love the island feel. Is it a big deal? The Nawlins them at the POR resorts doesn't do much for me, but I hear SO many nice things about how close everything is, the grounds, the boat rides to downtown. I also read some bad experiences about dirty rooms at CBR and bad service. HELP! Thanks so much!

Thank for the CSR info. :) Do they have sandy 'beach' areas too like CBR? Also, what building or area would you try to book with young kids for minimal walking for food and buses? Thanks!

Yes, the cabana section has a beach area w/ hammocks. I would recommend the cabana section to be close to everything. But that said, each section has its own bus stop so you're never far from one.

Check out buzz's site for pics of the beach area.

I think CBR is a great choice for children. The new pirate themed pool area will open in Sept. There are beaches for playing on, playgrounds, and the pirate ship slide area will be big hits with them. A picture of the pirate slide is in the first post of the CBR FAQ thread listed below.

Depending on what you want to be close to, here are some good building choices.

Cabana 9b is close to bus stop 1 and the main building with a short walk to the Dig Site (main pool) over the wooden bridge (most convenient location and most preferred).

Cabana 8a is close to the Dig Site (and playground) and bus stop 4 with a short walk to the main building (closest to the pool).

Cabana 8b and 9a are in between the 2 above. 9a has a quiet pool (and is the old smoking optional building).

Ranchos 7b has a quiet pool, is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a bit longer walk to the main building. 7b is behind cabana 8a.

Casita 1 is attached to the main building and is very close to the restaurants.

Casita 3 has great courtyard and fountain views but you will have to walk or ride the internal shuttle to get to the pool.

Casita 5 has some nice fountain and lake views and is close to the Dig Site but farther from the main building. Close to bus stop #2.

Make your room request as soon as you make your reservation. It’s never too early.

We had a great experience with CBR in November. The staff was very friendly. We got our room request, and they actually upgraded us to a preferred building for free. Our room was clean, and when we had a problem with our refrigerator not cooling properly they brought us another one 10 minutes after I called. I can't wait to go back and see the pirate pool this fall.

Our first trip @ Disney we stayed at CBR and my son was 7 and LOVED it!
We have stayed @ POP since then and he would like to go back to CBR because of the hammocks on the beach and the ducks!
Good luck to you and whatever decision you make ............it's DISNEY, it'll all be awesome!

I think the theming makes a difference and you all have convinced me to go with my gut. CBR! Thanks so much!
