My family and I are going to WDW in July. I have narrowed our choices to these moderates. We have stayed many times at PORS since we have three kids. This time my mother is going along so we will be getting two rooms. What at the pros and cons of each of these resorts? CSR is pretty new and CBR was just refurbished. Kids will be 14, 10 and 7. The like to swim but we will take in a water park while there. Also an issue, is kids are picky eaters. Also, how do these resorts compare to WL? We stayed there last year but don't want to splurge again for two rooms at a deluxe. TIA.

I have stayed at both with my teenagers and they preferred CBR. They are both nice places but we prefer CBR.

They are both about equal as far as I am concerned. The both have some rooms that are quite a walk to the main pools and food court. At caribbean Beach the main pool and food court are next to eachother. At Coronado if you have a room close to the food court it is farther away from the main pool and visa versa (s). I think the main pool at Coronado Springs is much more interesting with a much longer slide. I like both food courts though CBR would probably be a little less expensive. All of the rooms at both resorts are fairly colorfull except for the Rancho's at CSR which are more subdues ( and my favorite inside and out).

We've stayed at all 3 moderates and I have to say they're all incredible, but CS has the very very best swimming pool, its as good or not better then a lot of the luxury resorts. When I ask my DH which out of the 3 he likes best, its really hard to choose but the pool at CS wins hands down, the slide is really great especially for all age kids and even adults go down it, we certainly did!!! :p So I think if you have kids and you're a kid at heart and love pools they would like CS.

Hmmmm. We stayed at the CBR last June (2002) and have booked the CSR for August 2003. We changed just for the sake of change as the moderates fit just what we want and need (kind of like you I think). We just loved the CBR. Of course, our honeymoon in '95 was a Royal Caribbean cruise in the southern Caribbean so we kind of leaned that way. We really enjoyed the flavor of the decorations. The white sand beaches are great with the hammocks. The music from hidden speakers and the Parrot Cay island are really neat (you can watch the Epcot fireworks from the island if you wish, they have a viewing/sitting area). The main pool was okay but we were happy with the closer quiet pools. I am looking forward to the CSR so I can compare the two. Then Port Orleans I guess the next year right?

We will be arriving at CBR next week for our 4th stay. Last year we made a special trip over to CSR to check things out and it was nice, but it didn't have the "warmth" that CBR has. You could definately tell it was a convention center. As we were walking through we commented that we hadn't seen any families. We saw alot of people but they all were in business casual dress with name tags. It just didn't seem to be our idea of a vacation resort. We prefer the beautiful foliage, bright colored buildings and lying in the hammock on the sandy beaches at 10 pm enjoying the quiet while sipping a margarita under the stars.
CBR here we come!!!(I hope there's a hammock empty!!!)

We have stayed at both and if I had to choose between the two my favorite would CBR. Because of the tropical theme and the curtain that separates the sink area from the beds. I really liked that curtain:) I could wake up and get ready early while everyone else slept and the curtain blocked the light from the rest of the room. Now my girls (9 & 6) liked the CSR pool better.

Robinette-

Your user name makes me think of taking my kids to Robinette's for cider and donuts. Any relation to the apple orchard people?

vbfamily,

No relation, though there are a lot of orchards around here. I'm not sure why I chose Robinette. It's just one of the many nick names my friends and family occasionally call me by.:D

They are both good resorts. One has a caribbean theme and one has a southwest/mexican theme. It comes down to your taste. You are welcomed to check out my CSR website for info and pictures to help you in your decision process. Good luck!
