Hello there fellow Dis'ers. The last two times I went down to WDW for vacation, I stayed at the POFQ and loved it. I just fell in love with this resort. I love the theme and the size of the resort-not too spread out, its just the right size. I could stay there everytime I go, but I want to try something different. So, when I when I give myself a graduation present this year and head down to WDW for vacation I want to stay somewhere different. I'm looking to head down this comming Oct. or Nov. and am looking to stay at either a Moderate resort(CBR or POR) or a value resort(ASM). I would like to hear from people who have stayed at one of these resorts during the value season. Things like transportation, croweded or not, and even if you liked or disliked anyone of these resorts. When it comes to transportation at the All-Stars, do they share busses during the value season or do they have their own bus? If they share, does anyone know which of the All-Stars is first for pickup? I'd appreciate it very much.

Thanks in advance,
Steven

All Stars are fun, dynamic resorts and fine to stay at but I prefer a step up for a bit more visual beauty and relaxing feeling. I feel the same about POR and CBR. I like both allot. I think you should try something completely differetn from POFQ which would be CBR. It has the color and playfulness of All Star but is a bit more layed back with some beautiful Gardens.
If you want to take baby steps in parting from POFQ than POR would be a good first step. ;)

We have stayed at CBR & ASMo during value season but our trips were in Sept & October. The crowds we encountered were minimal on the buses for CBR and the ASMo buses were more crowded since we always shared transportation with the other resorts. Only 2 or 3 times over outr entire stay at ASMo (9 days) did we have the bus go straight to our resort without stopping at the Sports & Music first (this was after fireworks at the MK).

The CBR would be my preference over the All-Stars, but that is just my opinion. CBR seemed more like a "resort" to me that ASMo did and we got tired of eating meals in the food court at ASMo pretty quickly. We didn't spend tons of time in the room, however, so we appreciated it for the price ($55/nite w/ tax) and the convenience of being onsite. I would probably not stay there again unless my budget warranted going there.

CBR has been recently refurbished and the guests have had a lot of positive reports about the resort itself and the new food court. The main pool is nice and has a small slide and the bus stops are plentiful. Unfortunately that might mean a longer ride to pick up / drop off other passengers at times but we never minded the bus since it wasn't crowded. We stayed in Martinique building 26 and enjoyed the proximity to the Old Port Royale, the main pool, 2 bus stops and the beach to watch the Epcot fireworks.

I hope this helps & wish you luck in your planning!

Just wanted to be sure that you knew the CBR and ASM resorts are much more spread out than the POFQ. Assume you know what POR is like since you have stayed at POFQ.

My daughter( 19 at the time) and friend (18 at the time) picked CBR for a high school graduation trip. They had previously stayed at POFQ and wanted something different. Daughter said CBR was really so much bigger and spread out than she expected. Apparently, they didn't much like the long walk to the food court. (I tried to tell her, but you know teens)! They had a good time anyway.

Enjoy your trip!

If you click on the CBR logo below in my signature it will take you to my most recent CBR web pages. I have comments on many aspects of the resort and many pictures.

Please keep in mind that the food court and sit down restaurant have recently been remodeled, so my pictures of these areas are not accurate, but give you a general idea of what the inside of the food court looks like.
