We stayed at CBR last August and absolutely loved the resort -- the tropical feel, the bright colors and open, relaxing atmosphere. We just booked today an upcoming stay 4/24 through 5/4/08. I am concerned about the CBR pool closing while we are there -- we loved the main pool and are concerned that we will be disappointed. Will we be content with the quiet pools and the beaches for lying out in the sun? It is definitely a drawback to have the main pool closed and for such a long period of time!!

You will still have a wonderful stay at CBR. The resort is still beautiful. You may find you enjoy the quiet pools. If you want to keep up with the progress of the construction be sure to visit the first post of the CBR FAQ thread. Link listed below.

Personally having seen some pics of the walls that are up would turn me off. We are going next month and decided against CBR because of the pool closing. Why not try a different moderate resort for this trip? Then stay at CBR next time when the pool refurb is finished.
We are trying CSR next month. We've stayed at CBR and POFQ already.
I actually really love POFQ for its small size and quaint theming.

If the pool is an important part of your enjoyment, why not switch to another mod (as the pp suggested)?

We've stayed at all the mods, and I have to say the CSR and POFQ pools are amazing. We thought the CBR pool was just ok.

If you go to Caribbean Beach and have the mindset that you are so disappointed with the pool closing, then you won't have a good time. If you go and think that now you can discover the beaches and the quiet pools, then you will enjoy yourself much, much more. Disney has to do refurbs. Other than closing downthe entire resort, construction will have to go on when guests are there. Think positively and ignore the walls. I actually don't think you can ever go to Disney World and never see something under construction.
